Summary

It is an area located in the south end of Okayama-shi, the Kojima Peninsula northern coast. I am equivalent to ex-Kannoura-mura, Kojima-gun, Kogushi-mura, and current Kannoura school district (Kori, Minami-ku, Kitaura, Miyaura, Akura) and Kogushi school district (Kogushi, Minami-ku, Atsu) correspond. Okayama-shi uses a name of "Kojima" for the jurisdiction government office, but there is hardly that Kojima is used as a name of our area to usually point to Kojima of Kurashiki-shi with Kojima.

It is approximately 6,700 people, and there is little population next to Takebe by branch, the area center jurisdiction distinction of Okayama-shi. I increase in the Kannoura school district, but the Kogushi school district decreases, and the depopulation advances.

In the border with Tamano-shi of the local south side, pseudo hachijo-silk rocky mountain, shell mountain, Hase Pass, Toko Terayama ranges from the east, and there is Koyama where a TV transmitting station is installed in at the Kojima Peninsula highest peak at the west end. The nickname of these mountains was invited public participation for with the eastern part of Kojima Peninsula having been incorporated into Setonaikai National Park more in 1956 and was named light Minamidai in a meaning called the bright earth in the south of Okayama-shi. Kannoura Junior High School where the graduate of both elementary schools of Kannoura, Kogushi entered was changed the name from to light Minamidai Junior High School afterwards.

Lake Kojima settled for Gulf of Kojima and the Gulf of Kojima deadline by a dike opens in the local north side. The road which reached from our area to the Okayama city area area directly did not exist until the opening to traffic of the dike toll road on the Gulf of Kojima deadline. A transportation network was improved afterwards by completion of Gulf of Kojima Ohashi whom charge-free and the large car of the dike could pass on the Gulf of Kojima deadline.

History

  • A name of 5 moonlight Minamidai is decided (1958) in 1958.
  • The dike is completed (1959) on the Gulf of Kojima deadline in February in 1959.

  • I establish Okayama driver's license examination room (1964) in November in 1964.

  • I abolish Okayama driver's license examination room (1993) in December in 1993. I move to Mitocho, Mitsu-gun as driver's license center.
  • Kojima branch office is raised (2004) on April 1 in 2004 by the Kojima branch.
  • Okayama-shi shifts to the ordinance-designated city (2009) on April 1 in 2009, and our local administrative section becomes Minami-ku.

Administrative

The Kojima area center which is the branch office of the Minami-ku, Okayama-shi government office is established to Kitaura. The building uses the Government building of the former Kannoura-mura government office built early in the Showa era now. When Kannoura-mura merged with Okayama-shi, I made open as Okayama-shi government office Kojima branch and became the Kojima branch office by an organizational reform of Okayama-shi afterwards. However, I was promoted to the Kojima branch again on April 1, 2004 by the petition of the local alliance neighborhood association because our area was far from the city hall. And it becomes the Minami-ku government office Kojima area center by Okayama-shi ordinance-designated city shift of April 1, 2009 and reaches it at the present. In addition, a Kogushi communication place was put in the Kogushi school district, but was abolished on May 31, 2004.
