With the third fleet which assumes the east Pacific (except the South American west coast sea area in charge of the fourth fleet) from a 160 degrees E line and to the east a charge sea area, I constitute U.S. Pacific Fleet. Vice-admiralty maps the flagship / headquarters on the unloading conduct warship "blue ridge" warship which assumes Yokosuka navy facilities in Yokosuka-shi, Kanagawa, Japan the home port. The United States Seventh Fleet assumes the fifth carrier air wing made nuclear-powered carrier "Ronald Reagan" [3] and 艦載 the main force of the combat troop, and it is a scale to lead vessels of 50-60, 350 planes in the wartime. The human power has ability to call out 60,000 sailors and sailors, too. The military power of the time of peace is approximately 20,000. I assume half of the earth equal to the other side of the American own country a territory and, in the fleet of U.S. Navy, boast of the biggest scale and force. In addition, I have the relations that are close to the Japanese Marine Self Defense Force, Korean Republic of Korea Navy under the alliance (U.S. Korea alliance) under the alliance (Japan-U.S. alliance) and the Philippine Philippines navy under the alliance (U.S. ratio alliance).

History

1944 サマール offing sea fight

In March, 1943, a southwestern Pacific navy corps under the conduct of the Douglas MacArthur genl. is reorganized and becomes the United States Seventh Fleet. The United States Seventh Fleet in the Pacific War did not belong to conduct of the General United States Pacific Fleet commander in chief Chester Nimitz (a general of the army is promoted in December, 1944). There was disagreement of the communication between the third fleet which General William Halsey led, and, in the case of the Leyte offing sea fight of October, 1944 when Thomas C Kyn Quaid lieutenant general led you, it was a problem.

I was reorganized in 1947 by the west Pacific navy corps, but it became the draft fleet in the seventh in 1949, and I was reorganized in February, 1950 to the United States Seventh Fleet. In November, 1954 after the Korean War, it changed from the conduct bottom of the Commander Far East navy under the conduct of the United States Pacific Fleet commander in chief. I participate in the Korean War (1950 through 1953), the Vietnam War (1965 through 1973), the Gulf War of 1991. It was unofficial, but, at the time of the Vietnam War, there was the nickname of "the Gulf of Tonkin yacht club" (Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club).

As for the fifth fleet in charge of the Middle East, the responsibility in this area became the United States Seventh Fleet before formation of 1995.

I receive dispatch from the third fleet in charge of the east Pacific other than the war vessel which assumes Yokosuka and Sasebo, Guam the home port, but dispatch a war vessel to the fifth fleet depending on the situation.

The relations with the fifth fleet are close, but carrier blow group dispatched to the fifth fleet by China, a trend of North Korea does practice with the carrier blow group of the United States Seventh Fleet recently for the middle and comes and goes historically with the United States of America mainland.
