History
- When - Takayama Line (renamed to Takayama Main Line in 1934) extended (1931) from Gero Station on May 9 in 1931, I practice medicine as the terminal. I start the handling of a traveler and the freight.

Station structure

Around station
It is former Hagiwara, Mashita-gun town center. It became Gero-shi by merger of towns and villages (2004) on March 1 in 2004, but it is a center of the politics of Mashita-gun, and branch office of the prefecture, Communication Bureau of the newspaper publisher are put, and, in Hagiwara-cho, there are prefectural high schools now.
