楊乃武 and small Chinese cabbage
It is the false accusation case that was submitted a doubt to when 畢秀姑 (small Chinese cabbage) commits adultery with 楊乃武 in 清末, and "楊乃武 and the small Chinese cabbage" killed a husband. It is counted in one of 清末四大疑案.
Process
楊乃武 called a character 書勲 or 子釗 and, in people of 浙江省余杭県余杭鎮澄清巷, ran sericulture business and mulberry cultivation from generation to generation and was a candidate. 畢秀姑 was 童養 媳 of the house with a thatched roof and, in pulchritude, was called a small Chinese cabbage by a kimono of the white well because I did a green apron. 楊乃武 taught 畢秀姑 a character, and I was talked by the world because it was very close saying "a sheep (connected with Yang) eats a Chinese cabbage".
The kudzu products of the husband of 畢秀姑 suffered from disease of a filaria, but died on October 3, 1873. As a result of 検屍, I was recognized being to when it was poisoning with arsenic. I suspected that 畢秀姑 conspired with 楊乃武, and Liu tin 彤 of the intellect prefecture poisoned kudzu products and tortured 楊乃武 for three times, but was not able to let confession do it. Liu tin 彤 tampered with the part "which had a bloodshed from a mouth and the nose of the dead person" of the report saying "there was bloodshed from seven holes" and sent it to the Hangzhou prefecture.
Because 杭州知府陳魯 increased torture more, 楊乃武 was driven into the confession at last. 結果陳魯 announced 凌遅刑 to beheading, 畢秀姑 in 楊乃武 and reported it to 浙江按察使 蒯 蓀 to congratulate.
The Yangs expressed its disapproval of this and submitted a plea book. Shukuei Yang (菊貞) of the older sister of 楊乃武 has ever worked in a house of the good in summer of 刑部右侍郎; the plea book in the summer through good and 刑部分管浙江司刑獄林文忠 of Minister each Minister military plane and Prime Minister country office work public office old man 龢 that reach it at hand, and, as for them, a case is a false accusation; came to doubt it. I let the Imperial Court appointed 浙江学政胡瑞瀾 欽差大臣, and trial be successful more, but 胡瑞瀾 was ignorant of the criminal law and received a bribe from Liu tin 彤 and pressed it for confession by torture. 畢秀姑 caught the torture that copper wire was let go through by a nipple and confessed that I was seduced again in 楊乃武 and killed it. 胡瑞瀾 announced 凌遅刑 to beheading, 畢秀姑 in 楊乃武. However, the side treasure spring of the inspection government watchdog impeached an umpire of 胡瑞瀾. In 1874, 詹彩鳳 of Shukuei Yang and the wife of 楊乃武 amounted to Beijing again and accused innocence of an introduction of the good at a government official more than 30 name of the Zhejiang family register in the summer. Good and 王昕 reported innocence of 楊乃武 to the Throne in the summer.
In 1876, Sakae would examine it by oneself in Osakabe Chinese administrator mulberry spring and I opened the coffin of the kudzu product ream and did 検屍 again. It was proved that it was death from an illness not poisoning by Osakabe when a medical examiner of holding the post 60 checked it. The end of the case was sentenced to in February in the next year, and 楊乃武 and 畢秀姑 were released in this way. However, I suffered a disorder by the torture in the prison, and there was not the honorary recovery, too.
楊乃武 spent the rest of life by sericulture business and mulberry cultivation and died of an illness in September, 1914. 畢秀姑 became a priest and became a nun, and a Buddhist name was called 慧定 and died in 1930.
Influence
The 張家驤 and others were people of "江浙派" from Jiangsu, Zhejiang the good in the summer old man 龢 who caught a doubt in them in the people of 胡瑞瀾, "both lakes group" of 湘軍出身 where 楊昌濬 needed 左宗棠率 who insisted on guilt by this case. Therefore the case will show "both lakes group" and aspect of the political dispute of "江浙派". A false accusation was proved, and the government official of the 胡瑞瀾, 楊昌濬以下 more than 30 name was dismissed from its office, and 左宗棠 and "both lakes group" received a big blow after all.
