Shochiku opera company

Shochiku opera company

The 1955 "Tokyo dance" finale

The review that there was the Shochiku opera company (I carry it) in Japan from 1928 through 1996 and a musical theatrical company.

A performer belongs to the genealogy of "the girls' opera" occupied in women. I put a base in Tokyo, Asakusa as a mother in Shochiku and competed with Takarazuka girls' opera (Takarazuka all-women's opera) to base on Takarazuka-shi, Hyogo as a review theatrical company Tokyo's best in the 1930s with popularity. After the Pacific War, I kept popularity to sell "the ground review" utilized the superlative performance of a stronghold, the international theater after the war, but was dissolved in 1996 without settling though I gradually from the about 1960s converted to the musical theatrical company in slump, the 1990s. Even a popular name of SKD which took an initial of "Shouchiku Kageki Dan" was known. OSK Japan opera company (former Osaka Shochiku opera company) existing in Osaka is sisters theatrical company.

History

Prehistory

Takejiro Otani and Matsujiro Shirai.

Takarazuka girl opera company was formed in the Shinonsen, Takarazuka paradise Theater of Takarazuka-shi, Hyogo by Hankyu group founder, Ichizo Kobayashi, and the history of "the girls' opera" in Japan began in 1914 [1]. In 1918 in Hiroshima-shi, Hiroshima in Haneda girl opera company, 1919 Osaka-shi, Osaka biwa girl opera company, 1921 in the same way Osaka-shi a wave sinter girl opera company was formed [2], and gradually enlarged the wave of the girls' opera.

Rikuhei Umemoto (give birth cause, りくへい) who was the lecturer of the Takarazuka music opera school is Takarazuka public hall, and, in 1921, を stages dancing from "spring to autumn", and Osaka Shochiku's president of time, Matsujiro Shirai admires this and comes under a big influence to the Shochiku version girls' opera ・" Shochiku opera region establishment [3]. In April, 1922, Shirai invites Jun Harada and others of 楳茂都 and the composer from Takarazuka and founds "a Shochiku opera department student training school" in Shochiku unlimited partnership branch office of Tengachaya. The students approximately 30 gather by summer and stage "the dance" that you should call the preview in December [3]. I began the performance mainly on the performance in 1923, the following day for a short term based in Dotombori Shochiku seat [3]. Is like performance afterward by "the spring dance" that staged in April, 1926 having won great popularity although was handled as baggage at first; got on track [3]. "The spring dance" was the thing which arranged a bill of the entertainment district wind into a review, but Western-style dance comes to be greatly taken in in the Shochiku opera region when Takarazuka girls' opera stages French style luxurious review "Mon Paris" in 1927 [3]. In "Shochiku seat dance staged in 1928," cinematographic tempo, eroticism, the element which became basic of "the Shochiku review" such as the skillful cutaway were established [3].

Establishment of the Tokyo Shochiku opera department

Scene of "the Nanjing emotion" in 1929 "Shochiku seat フォーリィズ"

The Shochiku opera department performance was staged in the form called the attraction provided along by a cinematograph [4]. When Asakusa Shochiku seat opened on August 31, 1928, a Shochiku opera department went to Tokyo from Osaka and gave a performance. This performance "dance of the rainbow" wins a favorable reception in Tokyo, and Shochiku opera department manager, 蒲生重右衛門 makes a direct appeal by the new opera region establishment to base on Tokyo for Shiroi and Takejiro Otani (Tokyo Shochiku's president). When this was accepted, Gamo started a recruitment of students advertisement of the new opera department in the newspaper under the Tokyo prefecture promptly, and I led examination, student 14 who passed it depending on this, and "Tokyo Shochiku opera region" started [4].

I step on a debut with "a celebration line" staged to the Emperor Showa enthronement in form called the support of Osaka Shochiku which went to Tokyo in December. The appearance of Tokyo Shochiku was all handling of a lot of others from a lesson start only at the first view and finale for only two months [4]. Support appearance continued for a while in the next year, but achieves a first Tokyo Shochiku alone performance in "Shochiku seat フォーリィズ" from the end of November [4]. Furthermore, I staged "Shochiku seat dance" alone in December, and Tokyo Shochiku became independent afterward from Osaka Shochiku [4].

I it for the review heyday

"らぶ, ぱれいど" which opened the curtain of "the review battle" with Takarazuka. It is 江瀧子 of Hideko Yoshikawa and the water to become the pair.

In 1930, 江瀧子 of the first graduate water has its hair bobbed for male wind as a student of the girls' opera for the first time, and popularity soars as "beauty of the wearing men's clothes" afterward [5]. I received the instruction notification of direction contents in vain from the police while review popularity increased saying that it was sensational, but I was offered "our dear wife taken away" who dramatized "Lamar Jana" in Kabukiza in 1931, the following day in 台覧 of をもって, King Thailand visiting Japan, the Rama seventh and raised social trust [5]. There was the aggressive administration by 蒲生重右衛門 which was an opera director, and, in the Tokyo Shochiku opera region, it was in a big theatrical company said to be a specialty of Tokyo, and even not only the Asakusa Shochiku seat of the base but also Kabukiza, Tokyo theater raised their excellent box office [6].

Takarazuka girls' opera to plan Tokyo advance in October, 1932 is Shimbashi Enbujo, and, including "bouquet ダムール" performance, a masterpiece stages "らぶ, ぱれいど" in Tokyo Theater of the opposite bank that sandwiched the Tsukiji River between Tokyo Shochiku against this [6]. Shochiku and pulling in customers competition, a popular name "review battle" [7] by Takarazuka began on Tsukiji River both sides. Both were compared with "Shochiku which danced, Takarazuka that sang" [7], and, as for this fight, Takarazuka continued until a new base in Tokyo moved to the Tokyo Takarazuka Theater [7]. In addition, in the days of "らぶ, ぱれいど," the Tokyo Shochiku opera department changed a name to "a Shochiku girls' opera department" (SSK) [6].

Main performer, staff [note 1] at the time of 1937

In June, 1933, it is started from the improved treatment demand by the bandsman and has a labor dispute, a popular name "pink dispute" to assume 江瀧子 of the water Chairperson at organization. 蒲生重右衛門 withdrew after the agreement of the next month, and, in the Shochiku girls' opera department which was affiliated with the Shochiku seat chain conventionally, it was in Shochiku girl opera company of the Shochiku head office direct control, and member training engine "Shochiku girls' opera school" attached at the same time was established [6]. 江 of the water of the dispute Prime Minister was made to confine himself/herself to the house at one time, but it is returned by "tango Rosa" of the end of October. Since, as for the work by the same author, Shochiku opera began; made a big hit, and performed Kansai that had all members for the first time publicly, and made the best record in the girls' opera called 160 times of performances in total at the time [6]. Furthermore, the Shochiku girls' opera that let you amplify popularity moved the stronghold in the Shinjuku first Theater from the Asakusa Shochiku seat from September, 1934 [6].

While the Shochiku girls' opera planned an active offensive since an appearance of the Tokyo Takarazuka Theater, and it was in form to shut up provincial tour, Osaka Shochiku of the senior in the stronghold to Kansai, China, each Kyushu district after "tango Rosa", I acquired nationwide popularity [8]. There was the Shochiku girls' opera of these days as two leading figures in 江瀧子 and Orie 津阪 of the water, but boasted of high popularity approximately 江 of the water which came to be known for the nickname of "the turkey" "monopolizes in particular popularity in front of the review world sky" [9] that was described as saying "I appear in the turkey times". In addition, I played Takarazuka and an equal fight to lead good acting priest, Tetsuzo Shirai that Sugisaku Aoyama of the direction, Yoshio Aoyama of the choreography, Ryotaro Mitsubayashi of the device were called with "the King of the review" as three mainstays in the staff [10].

The private supporters associations of each star mushroomed and each supporters association competed for "江会 of the water" which had 20,000 members in the first on the list and cheered a star and threw tape and a bouquet to the stage, and the theater showed an abnormal excitement state to the star in response to this again in those days [6]. However, the charm called "the exchange of courtesies between a star and the fan" that supported conventional Shochiku girls' opera because of the enormousness will be lost when an international theater is opened the new stronghold that is proud of 3,600 capacity in 1937, and was called "a mammoth theater" [11].

I it until Pacific War end

About the Japan and Germany Italy Triple Alliance among Germany, Italy and Austria "French 起 shines" (1941). The Hakenkreuz flags of the Nazis form a line to the stage rear.

In March, 1938, the reorganization of the Shochiku head office is carried out, and "an opera part" starts newly, and both girls' opera of Tokyo, Osaka will be consolidated [11]. Hiroshi Otani of the opera director let both theatrical companies interchange positively, but a wartime color of the situation had been strengthened, and the full-scale performance decreased, and the girls' opera popularity showed a fall tendency [11]. After the thing that the situation was reflected as for the work began to be made, and "ますらを" (1937) about 日支事変 was staged, "a cherry tree beat it and got out", and という subtitle was touched for "the Tokyo dance" in 1938, the following day and, as for the ballet, "it was for the mother country", was done 併演 [12]. I stage "an oath of the anticommunist" in 1939. And the independent performance of the girls' opera will be stopped once with "ぶるう, むうん" of September of the year [11].

I continued performing an attraction performed of 併演 like the past by a cinematograph publicly as erection of a framework afterward, but the limit about presentation contents was strengthened when the Pacific War broke out at the end of 1941 [11]. I performed the officers consolation performance of the Philippine area for three months in 1942, the following day [11]. The male part played by a woman star who supported 江瀧子 and the heyday of the water in Orie 津阪, 1943 in the same year is dismissed from it in succession. An international theater was closed in March, 1944 by a decisive battle emergency measures essential point and was converted as a manufacturing facility of the balloon bomb. Because the people of dismissal from an organization occurred successively by here, the Shochiku girl opera company is dissolved once on 31st. I was changed by "Shochiku Geino headquarters girl volunteer corps" for the purpose of the consolation performance and hit the consolation performance in the inside and outside [11]. I was active as "a Shochiku dancing corps" in 1945 and invited the end of the war during performance at a big boat new life theatrical company and a traditional Japanese music seat in August [11].

Postwar international theater review

1951 "dance atto- Mick girls of the autumn"

A member of 1952 "dance "three pearls" of the autumn." It is Mitsuko Kusabue, Fukakusa Shoko, Keiko Awaji from the left

In postwar October, the Shochiku dancing corps has 30 members and makes a fresh start as "Shochiku opera company". I performed the recruitment of new members at the same time, and 34 people who were the first graduate after the war joined it newly in November [13]. I reopened a performance while taking the form to be congruent with the theatrical company where the ex-person concerned including 江 of the water belonged to from 1946, the following day and performed the after the war first independent performance in July and left for the recovery [13]. An international theater damaged by Tokyo blitzkrieg in the autumn of 1947 was repaired and it revived and memorialized it and gave a performance [13]. I ever brought back "the Tokyo dance" that became annual every year in 1948 [13]. The popularity recurred from about 1949, and 1 million pieces of articles of the star such as the lily made a profit of the above in the known Asakusa circle bell temple as the largest company of the bromide sale in Ryuko Kawaji, Saeko Ozuki, the beginning [14].

When the 1950s begins, the enormousness of the international theater and a theatricalism utilized the stage mechanism are begun to knit, and the Shochiku review as the large-scale show that made full use of the mass demonstration tactics which is different from the prewar days settles [13]. The international theater became the new famous place of Asakusa that a sightseeing bus visited en masse [13]. In 1957, I recorded the audience mobilization of 2,650,000 people who became the most through the history [15].

It is a recent characteristic that many "teams" were established [13]. I found the chorus line team "atto- Mick girls" which to solve dullness to happen in the case of a device switch in 1951 [16] particularly chose good 40 people of the style [13]. I renovated the team "three pearls" which I pushed in the front part of glamourous さを of the woman in 1956 [17], and "eight P chess" was founded. Eight P chess did a sensual dance with an article for sale by the team of eight people who chose a person with advanced dance technology skills, and it was "belonging in honor" and a said excellent team [16]. Atto- Mick girls and eight P chess get art festival prize for encouragement (public entertainment section) in 1956 [17]. I install a water tank in "a summer dance" of 1959 underground on the mechanism side, and it is mentioned specially that I created the cascade of six steps of last jokes to the stage rear [17]. In addition, scenes of a house collapsing were pride direction, too [18].

End as the review theatrical company

After mid-1960s [19], the Shochiku opera are pushed in the popularity of diversification and the musical of the entertainment and begin slump [15]. The mannerism that I depended on a past work by the absence of the opening address writer many times has begun to be seen [20]. Attendance in Tokyo fails to rise, and the Takarazuka opera reduced operation of the Tokyo Takarazuka Theater for seven months from whole year in the 1960s, but a musical is "a rose of Versailles", and a boom is caused in 1974 and succeeds in regaining force [21].

The member was going to work on a musical in the Shochiku opera voluntarily. "SKD, a drama group" formed in 団内 in 1970 is it. Hope to want to stage this among the members increased while a musical boom happened in the theatrical world, and a company supported it for the purpose of "a performance power grant and improvement" [22]. However, there was not much performance number of times, and the first preview "love instruction calligraphy model" was performed on a suspension of the performance day of "the autumn dance" of the same year, and the performance until 1977 when I included this was "11 musical accompaniments" (in 1974 preview 1st), "Ionesco (in 1975 performance 3rd) only for women", 4 work nine days of "カモレッティ (in 1977 performance 4th) only for women", and the work tendency was only a difficult thing, too [22].

In 1979, the Shochiku opera invites Hirotsugu Yamada of the movie director to a script, direction, and I stage musical work "Carmen", and a trial, "a presentation executive committee" doing Yoshiro Mori with the chief director more in 1980 are formed in new direction and staged cause musical "Galaxy Express in SKD" of the Agency for Cultural Affairs support [23], but at first an international theater is closed by "Tokyo dance" in April, 1982 last. The last stronghold performance gathered approximately 4,000 audiences [19]. In addition, I gave a performance in Soviet Union and East Germany for a long term in the same year [19], but it was excellent conventionally, and this suffered from the foreign countries performance that I performed the last example.
