Onocho (おおのちょう) is the town which ever existed in the Aichi eight county.

I assumed the left bank of the branch Ure River of Toyokawa the range of the town. It enforced town organization as great Nomura by the municipality organization enforcement of (1889) in (1892) in start, 1892 in 1889, and it was in Onocho, but I was complicated with the neighboring local governments in (1956) in 1956, and it was a part of Horaichou and became extinct. Because Horaichou was incorporated into Shinshiro-shi in (2005) in 2005, it is some cities now.

The Bessho highway which bound Akiha Highway that linked Mount Akiha Hongu Akiha Shrine to the Otori next temple and Toyohashi and Bessho together prospered as the post town that intersected and developed until a distribution center of the sericulture, Showa round as financial capital of the Tosan river backed by Ono Bank (one of the forerunners of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ) in the Meiji era. Old cityscape remains, and the store of the old Ono Bank Head Office is managed now as a nostalgic cafe called "Otori visit", too.

History

The forerunner is great Nomura. It was in Tokugawa territory (I possess the Shogunate after Shogunate establishment) like neighboring villages in (1600) for Yoshida feudal clan territory (Terumasa Ikeda territory) followed by Keicho era five years in (1590) for Tensho era 18 years [2]. After that it was Shogunate territory and just greeted the Meiji era through the Edo era.

I was complicated with 6 villages of Mutsudaira-mura, Hosokawa village, Amida Buddha's name village, name Koshimura, well charges village which hung it to the east (1889) from the north of great Nomura on October 1 in 1889 when municipality organization was enforced, and existed, Notose-mura (newly), and large Nomura was established. It became the village having seven capital letters, but I came back to the former の form that seven villages separated (1890) on October 20 in 1890, the following day, and large Nomura reduced it in the range of the former Ono village which did not have a larger section of a village (from Edo period). This great Nomura enforced town organization (1892) on April 18 in 1892 and was renamed to Onocho [3]. In addition, 6 villages except great Nomura add high Okamura (1906) in 1906 and merge and start seven villages.

The change of the town area just changed with there not being it, but I was complicated with seven villages and Minamishitara hundreder Shino village, Otori next Teramura (1956) on April 1 in 1956, and, in a great merger of the Showa, it was a part of Horaichou [4]. The range of former Onocho is succeeded to as larger section of a village "Ono" of Horaichou [3] and shifts to a capital letter of Shinshiro-shi after a merger to Shinshiro-shi of the town.

Geography

The town is located in the left bank of the Ure River. In other words, Ure River flowed through the west end of the town. The opposite bank of the river is equivalent to Tomiei of the Kitashitara hundreder Shino village. It is seven village wells charges, and it is in seven village Mutsudaira when I go to an arrival at ship village, the north when I go to the south in the Ure River left bank when I leave for the east in Atera district of Yamakichi Shimoyoshida, Tamura, along truth Tachikawa when I leave for the east in Atera riverside joining the Ure river in a town.

Education

In the town, one junior high school of 組合立 with seven villages adjacent to one town elementary school existed.

Electric

In Onocho, I ran early in the Showa era from the Taisho era, and an electric power company called Ono Electric Co., Ltd. (おおのでんき) supplied electricity.

I opened it (1912) in April in 1912, and the Ono sawing joint-stock company which became the base of Ono Electric started electric supply for whole Onocho. I used the waterpower of the Atera river which flowed through the town and I operated a sawing factory using waterpower in the daytime and was the thing which I operated a power station by night and supplied electricity to. The output of the power station is 7 kilowatts [5].

Influential person Shotaro Ohashi of Onocho plans the establishment of new company Miwa electricity Co., Ltd. for the purpose of the town and adjacent seven villages and supply to the northern Kitashitara-gun Miwa village successively. The company took over an electricity company of the Ono sawing (1919) in December in 1919 and was renamed to Ono Electric (1920) in June in 1920, the following day [6]. In December of the year, Ono Electric founds reed ヶ waterfall power station [7]. The power station was near Ure River right bank, Kakidaira Station of the long Shino village (existing Shinshiro-shi) and was a hydroelectric power station of output 28 kilowatts. The power station of the sawing factory juxtaposition was abolished with this. 1924 (1924) in January from Yahagi waterpower of 30 kilowatts receiving it started, and the electricity of Ono Electric became 58 kilowatts in total [8].

When it was the Showa era, and state control of the electricity was promoted, the unification of the small electric company came to be recommended. I received this flow, and Ono Electric transferred business to central electricity (1939) in April in 1939. The center electricity is integrated with the central part supply of electric power in (1942) in 1942 three years later by supply of electric power control, too [9]. Chubu Electric Power which started after the war in (1951) in 1951 succeeded to the reed ヶ waterfall power station which Ono Electric built, and it wanted to be abolished (1955) in September in 1955, and [10] was really stopped (1945) in April in 1945 in the central part supply of electric power times by a hand of the company [11].
