Dana (デイナ) is text editor for Microsoft Windows (Windows) that Tomohiro Norimatsu of rim arts Ltd. developed.
As 32 bits Windows application, I was developed based on a totally new concept while succeeding to a function of text editor "Elis" for MS-DOS that a work by the same author person had ever released (in addition, the author of the time when I released "Elis" used a steering wheel called "Carty", but is the same person).
The author deals with Becky! Internet Mail (Becky!) used as an E-mail client widely, and that version up is given priority to now, and the version update of Dana is in a condition to relatively remain. Dana is incorporated in Becky! as a subset and is used for the editing of the email sentence.

Characteristic
Dana Script
As editor macro, script language "Dana Script" of Visual Basic 似 is implemented. Although I tend to be slightly heavy operatively, I can make the script which is relatively graphical for attachment macro of the text editor because there are many orders of GUI origin.
It becomes the compiler sending forth the cord for the virtual stack machine internally. In addition, macroprocessing system including such a composing type has only global variable, and there are many things which cannot recur commonly, but there is not such a limit, and there is a recurrence summons in Dana Script freely.
Classification indication
The classification indication of the keyword is possible for the cause with the kind of the file which I distinguished by extension. The keyword of the initial setting is relatively abundant and I am usable to some extent, but become hard to know registration menu indication visually even if I do not define the user in particular as keywords increase.
User interface
Because I adopt MDI (Multiple Document Interface) by recent Windows editor as user interface not mainstream SDI (Single Document Interface), custom is necessary for the user who shifted from text editor for other Windows.
Key bind
Because the basics are the same as Dana incorporated in Becky!, a key bind is common (different partly). Therefore, there is the advantage that it is easy to be used to when Becky! user uses Dana in a simple substance.
Support
The support about the movement of Dana is carried out in the bulletin board system (Dana support BBS) to run of rim arts Ltd. and can receive the support by the author directly now.
