I it about remains name
I exposed abaj (stone) and takalik (stand) of the language of キチェー, and the remains name of "アバフ = タカリク" renamed the remains name which archeologist Susanne = Myles that studied these remains of the United States named piedra parada in Spanish once. Thereafter, in United States and Japan, I was known for these remains name, but, for local hope, the Guatemala government seemed to make "タカリク = アバフ" (Takalik Abaj) an official name, but uses "アバフ = タカリク" settling in by this article in a learned society and the reading public recently because タカリク = アバフ is right by the word order of the キチェー word.
A location and scenery
The remains are located on the slope that slants from the north toward the south at 580m from 680m above sea level of the Pacific coast slope gently and bind the south including Mexico and El Salvador together and it is thought that it was a suitable base in one trading with it binding Guatemala highlands and the Pacific coast together and is divided into a Chuo group located in 580m from south, 630m above sea level of northern part group located in 660m from 680m above sea level, the west group located southwest, the northern part group. The existence of remains was known from the late 19th century, but originally it was covered by the thick tropical rain forest, and it was able to distinguish it that there were slightly a monument and a mound, but the total picture came to be recognized when a plantation of sugarcane and the coffee was performed. However, the steep slope part of the イシュチャ Valley is still covered in the tropical forest. In 1976, John = Graham of the California University Berkeley school investigates it. The scenery of アバフ = タカリク is the situation that a flat foundation stone affects step-like using a slope. It is unknown, but it is thought that I was more likely to use an original natural hill when the size of the foundation stone of one one thinks about a variety of, the height not maintaining the same from a thing of 4.6m to a thing of 9.4m from 140m in width to 220m rushingly whether you pile soil step-like on the slope, and you built the mound whether you cut the natural hill of the cause cause, and you built the mound. Maruishi is used for the surface of the foundation stone. The big foundation stone having stairs completes a thick block of the andesite which I gathered on the surface from the neighborhood ground.
Stone sculpture of the Orr machine style
The stone carving of the Orr machine style is frequent in アバフ = タカリク. It is monument 1, monument 18 of the bas-relief which I chopped in Maruishi, monument 14 which I incised the sedentary image of the person on into a curve form deeply, monument 23 of the huge stone number of persons image type to be seen in the Gulf Coast, 55 of the stone sculpture of the round shape, monument 57 such as the tabular altar. These stone sculptures are reused like that definitely if I may say reuse and break the thing of the cause cause and upset it and divide it and use it. For example, originally monument 16 and 17 were columnar number of persons images, but were put on foundation stone 7. In addition, it is 23 to be worthy of special mention and was discovered in the east side of foundation stone 3 of the north side of foundation stone 5 equal to the main shrine of the Chuo group along with other stone sculptures, but, against the vertical axis of the huge stone number of persons image of the cause cause, I dig the face and the ocular part deeply and make a big "hollow" with form to scrape off the part of one ear of the huge stone number of persons into a niche form and carve the sedentary image of the person who let a foot intersect. As for both the huge stone number of persons image and the person sedentary image which let the foot in "a niche" intersect, a state-type Orr machine. About this, as for John = Graham, アバフ = タカリク is under the control of the Orr machine and thinks that I made the stone sculpture that the occupation sculptor who worked with the ruler is equal to context of the courtesy of the Orr machine with the instructions of the ruler.
The monument that carved with a long-term calendar
In addition, it is the monument which it wins to attract attention in アバフ = タカリク, and ticked away a calendar for in the latter period or a long term placed as the end for イサパ style and the done point classic period. Monument 2 issue is a monument having possibility of the Mesoamerica oldest that ticked away a charge account on a day of so-called cycle7 namely 7 バクトゥン although half of the bottoms suffer a loss. として is old most, and "rank" of カトゥン will sail it up 7.6.0.0.0 until B.C. 235 if it is 6. In addition, 7.16.0.0.0 has the possibility named old times most even if it is 16 because it is in であれば, B.C. 38. If it is 7.16.19.17.19, I am B.C. 18. In addition, a charge account is known as a monument ticked away on the day of the calendar for the long term when monument 5 which ticked away a charge account (A.D. 83) and 8.4.5.17.11 8.2.2.10.5 on a day of (A.D. 126) is old.
