History

• Sumura forms the local government by the enforcement of - municipality organization alone (1889) at the night since the early modern times on April 1 in 1889.
• - Yasu village enforces town organization (1943) on January 1 in 1943 and becomes Yasu-cho.
• 震洋部隊 of the stationing was a fire, and a great explosion was caused (1945) on the next day of - end of the war on August 16 in 1945, and 111 navy soldiers died.
• It merges with - Akaokacho, Kagamicho, Noichicho, Yoshikawa-mura (2006) on March 1 in 2006, and Konan-shi starts. The same day Yasu-cho abolition.
