Ugajin
宝厳寺蔵 (I dedicate Hisamasa Asai in 1565, and Ugajin gets on the head small and holds a torii.)
Ugajin (うがじん, ugh, that chew) is God believed in in Japan the Middle Ages later.
It is generally thought that "Uga" of the name of a god comes from 宇迦之御魂神 (うかのみたま) coming up in a Japanese myth (there is the opinion to come from "宇迦耶 (うがや)" meaning "財施" by Buddhism word).
The figure is expressed in form to surround 蜷局 (coil) in number of persons body of a snake and is not the equality that there are various opinions in when the head is an aged man and a woman.
Originally, like 宇迦之御魂神, it is supposed that it may be God believed in as grain deity, happiness and prosperity God in private enterprise, but the commonality except the name is poor for both, and the blood relationship is unidentified. In addition, I might be considered to be the incarnation of magic by the snake soul, the dragon King [1].
This snake God is taken in in education and researches of Mt. Hiei-zan & Enryaku-ji Temple (Tendai sect), and it is said that or 習合 was united with the Sarasvati who is God of the Buddhism (the sky), and this union God call it with the Uga goddess of fortune and is done with the system which is different from a goddess of fortune who did イチキシマヒメ and 習合 of Munakata third daughter God.
Like a wife of chief zen-priest image sitting in 竹生島宝厳寺, Ugajin often gets on the parietal area of the goddess of fortune small. A torii is often attached on this occasion.
Blood relationship is unclear, and there is the opinion with God which Ugajin is furnished in the mixture of Buddhism and Shintoism with the goddess of fortune with the sacred book by character as the grain deity not being seen, and was devised [2].
In Uga Fukugami Corporation of Kamakura-shi, I worship Ugajin as God of the same Shinto.
