Toshimitsu Imai (いまいとしみつ, from May 6, 1928 to March 3, 2002) is a Japanese Western picture painter. As a painter of the informel, I was active based in Japan and Paris. Imai Alexander, Ryu Imai (りゅうま) are painters, too.

Person
The second son of father Toshio and mother Ayano. I am born in Kyoto-shi and move to anchorage Azuchi-cho of Osaka-shi when I am young [1]. I went to Tokyo in 1941 and entered the old system Musashi Senior High School ordinary course when I graduated from an Osaka City anchorage primary school [1]. I begin to describe a painting from all over Musashi Senior High School attendance at school and study under Taro Ogi, Ryuzaburo Umehara, Soutarou Yasui. I graduated from Musashi Senior High School in 1948 [1].
I win a prize by an association of the twelfth new production group exhibition in October, 1948 after the graduation from high school [1]. I learn as a dispatch student in Tokyo art university art department oil painting department for one year in 1950 [2], and the private expense studies in France in 1952 [1] and learns from the Sorbonne department of literature [3]. I knew Sam Francis and Michel タピエ, and oneself participated in an informel campaign, too [1]. In the case of "a world, today's art exhibition held in Nihonbashi, Takashimaya in 1956," I mediate the exhibition of the informel work [1]. It is the exhibition which I introduced informel to in earnest for the first time in Japan, and George マチウ, タピエ, Francis and others visit Japan [1].
For 1,962 years, I am presented with a Dark-blue Ribbon Medal in modern Japanese winning the art exhibition excellence prize, 1979 [4]. I am presented with French art Order of Culture オフィシエ in 1983 [2]. I am presented with cash register on de ヌール decoration Chevalier in 1995 [4]. I am presented with French art Order of Culture co-man Dole in 1997 [4]. It commends Minister of Education in 2008 [4].
Although acute myeloid leukemia developed in 1992, I continued energetic fictionization. For 2,000 years, I am announced for a terminal cancer with several months in the remaining days and, in December of the year, hold "a good-bye exhibition" in gallery GAN of Tokyo, Ginza. On March 3, 2002, I die because of bladder cancer in National Cancer Center center Hospital in Chuo-ku, Tokyo [1].
