The Purple Ribbon Medal

The Purple Ribbon Medal (しじゅほうしょう) is one of the Japanese medals of honor. I am conferred in the name of "the Japan Emperor".

It was established (1955) on January 23 in 1955 by the revision of the medal of honor regulations (1881 emperor's reign official proclamation 63rd) (1955 government ordinance seventh). Regulations Article 1 fixes the Purple Ribbon Medal for "ノ invention improvement creation ニ Seki シ 事績著明 null person ニ 賜 フモノトス in academic art". It is said, "I abolish an age limit about the Purple Ribbon Medal and commend it for the superior achievements in the field of invention, discovery and arts and sciences in the field of technology and sports, art immediately." [1], and an age limit said to 50 years old or older in before is abolished by privilege reform of 2002 (2002). It is announced twice of (November 3) in autumn in spring with (April 29) and, in an average year, is conferred on the arts and sciences, art, the person who has rendered distinguished services of the field of sports.
