Process
Among rail lines of Ikasa Tetsudo, the main line left till the last canceled service to limit March 31, 1971, but was saved a lot a vehicle because Ikasa Tetsudo remained in the number light railway which there was till late. I expect 1981 equal to the 70th anniversary after the Ibara Kasaoka light railway which is a forerunner of Ikasa Tetsudo was founded, and Ikasa Tetsudo installs "the Ikasa Tetsudo memorial" which misappropriated old Niiyama station building and will save the vehicle remaining.
The state of preservation is excellent in the present passing after the abolition more than 30 years. Stationmaster Niiyama Haruo Tanaka at the time of the abolished line became the director and managed it with a family. A memorial was appointed to a recommendation industry inheritance of Japan Industrial Archaeology Society in 2002 [1], and Director Tanaka was chosen as a prize for preservation service of Japan Industrial Archaeology Society again in 2009, too.
However, the proprietary rights of the memorial move to an administrator in a bankruptcy, and they will be placed under the management by Ikasa Tetsudo by Ikasa Tetsudo withdrawing from bus transit in November, 2012, and having begun a business settlement procedure. The memorial became the assets targeted for disposal and was on the verge of the continuation. A voice to expect the continuation was strengthened from the hometown [2] and showed the intention that local Niiyama district residents' association undertook the management of the memorial in July, 2013 and submitted a request book to demand from Kasaoka-shi to acquire buildings. It reopened it as Kasaoka-shi Ikasa Tetsudo memorial on March 30, 2014 after agreeing with an administrator in a bankruptcy saying that the document value as the industrial inheritance was accepted in the city and contributed to local promotion [3] because Kasaoka-shi bought all of a site, a building, the display document of the memorial in August, 2013 [4], and purchasing it for approximately 1,800,000 yen, and repairing a part of the intense wall and door, interior decoration of the hurt, and having renovated the restroom [5]. The Kasaoka-shi Board of Education manages the memorial after the renewal, and the administration becomes Kasaoka-shi and the joint administration of the Niiyama district Residents' Association.
