The mountain pass where the Brenner Pass (German: Brennerpass) is located between Tirol state of Austria and Bolzano self-government prefecture of Italy. It is used as an important mountain pass connecting Italy and northeast Europe from ancient times.
There is a town (Bullen Nero / Brenner) of the same name on the Italian side of the mountain pass.
Name
I am called Bullen Nero Pass (Passo del Brennero) in Italian.
It is common to call the Italian side (State of Trentino-Alto Adige special self-government Bolzano self-government prefecture) by a German name by the German local (South Tirol that is former Austria = Hungary empire territory) Japanese documents.
