Shimoda-mura, Koka-gun of the forerunner became Dai-2-ku, Koka-gun by the setting of the ward based on the Family Registration Act at the time (1872) on April 7 in 1872. Dai-2-ku, Koka-gun became in 7 villages of Kasugamura, Hatamura (renamed to Hatta-mura), Bannakayama-mura, Simoyama-mura, Uemura, Shimomura, the temple village other than Shimoda-mura. I was put in Koka-gun to the tenth ward. I left the function of municipalities after the setting of the ward by the Family Registration Act in Shiga and performed administrative administration.
I abolish the ward that I established at the time of a Family Registration Act establishment in (1878) in 1878. The township municipalities organization law that the end of the administrative organization prescribes municipalities (1879) on May 16 in 1879 of the next year takes effect. "Alliance town office" was set up (1885) in Kasugamura on July 1 in 1885 and had jurisdiction over Shimoda-mura, Kasugamura, Hatta-mura, Bannakayama-mura, Simoyama-mura, a mountain village. Shimoda-mura independently separated it from attendant Tanimura (Kasugamura, Hatta-mura, Bannakayama-mura, Simoyama-mura, mountain village) at the time of the municipality organization enforcement of April 1 (1889) in 1889. Shimoda-mura consented that attendant Tanimura received it once at first, but chose the independent way as dissatisfaction.
The merger of cities, towns and villages promotion method was established in (1953) in 1953, and the prefecture Koka local office suggested the merger of 4 municipalities of Ishibe-cho, Mikumo-mura, Iwane village, Shimoda-mura, but Shimoda-mura withdrew by the reason of there being a junior high school construction problem, a merger with Gamo seedling village, Kagamiyama-mura in the field of vision. I received the advice of the prefectural governor sent (1957) in January in 1957, and Shimoda-mura was admitted into Kosaimachi (1958) afterwards on October 1 in 1958. South and a half leaves it by the construction of the Konan Kogyo housing complex from larger section of a village Shimoda and reaches it afterwards at the present.
