The train traffic danger case that the Niwasaka case (にわさかじけん) happened in (1948), Fukushima Nobuo county Niwasaka village (existing Machiniwasaka, Fukushima-shi) in 1948.
Summary
Fourgon and the passenger car one which an Ueno line 402 train from Aomori that ran (1948) between Japanese National Railways Ou Main Line Akaiwa - Niwasaka at 0:04 a.m. on April 27 in 1948 left the horse cave opening tunnel, and a locomotive and a mail coach fell into derailment, the soil bank bottom under 10 meters soon, and were connected to a rock in a crash derailed. Two people of an engineer and the stoker whom rock flakage hit directly died instantly and an engineer suffered a serious wound and died later.
According to the inspection of the scene, the point of the case outbreak was located to 1.8km from Niwasaka Station, and, with a curve of R300 of the downslope, two pieces of track joint bars of the neighborhood of derailment point, dog nail six, bolt four were pulled out.
