History

Ancient

It was old, and a manor called Mutsuura Zhuang was established and was the private land which was not governed by a land which a provincial governor rules over (body) and the district government. Mutsuura, Kanazawa, 釜利谷, Tomioka consisted of 4 volost. Original Ryoke is considered to have been Ninna-ji Temple (Chief Abbot of the Honganji Temple temple territory of the royalty). The temple of the Shingon Buddhism Omuro group is unusually distributed now in Kanazawa-ku in the eastern country. I pass through the Naka fruit of the Hitachi country as a reward from Yoshitomo Minamotono in (1157) for Hogen two years, and Mutsuura Zhuang is given in (大中臣実経), and it is said to a feudal lord that it was.

Middle Ages

Kanjiyo did Myojin, Mishima, Izu where (1180), Yoritomo Minamoto got protection for Jisho era four years when they raised an army in Izu in this ground and erected the main shrine of the Seto Shinto shrine. Yoritomo erected 浄願寺 in the Mutsuura mountains for (1185 through 1190) in the Bunji year. It is considered that it is the remains of upper line temple east. Kanazawa style Hojo became a feudal lord through Wada afterwards. According to "Agatsuma mirror," (May 17, 1241), Kamakura Shogunate regent Yasutoki Hojo gave it an order for the excavation of the way which linked Mutsuura to Kamakura on Ninji era April 5, 2. It is Mutsuura course (朝夷奈切通).

It became Boso Peninsula and the doorway of Kamakura through a sea route. Urago Enokido Minato of the neighborhood is considered that the geographical advantages such as traffic services with Kamakura are better and developed. When it was in an inlet, the inland sea in Mutsuura abandonment area and the neighborhood that are current inland area of lever Shinto shrine, Kanazawa-Bunko Station, in the Middle Ages, I am estimated, and the ground suitable for plural Tsu and Minato in Mutsuura is considered that there was it. 泰時 was it in such circumstances in the background that 実泰 of the younger brother placed here. An east boundary was put in Mutsuura mimicking four Sakai of Kyoto. It was adjacent, but Kamakura and Mutsuura that was able to be apart were placed as a wall to check the wicked things such as an epidemic or the ogre from the east by Yamaji. The complicated topography with Tsu and Minato came to be known as a scenic beauty spot ("Kanazawahakkei" of coming ages) widely. General Yoritsune Kujo travels for rest in Mutsuura on (June 2, 1228) on Antei era April 28, 2, too. In addition, Mutsuura was known because there was Shiota until the Meiji era.

I put an annex in Kanazawa in child, Minoru Hojo of 実泰. It became Shomiyo temple and the forerunner of Kanazawabunko.

Mutsuura and Kanazawa separated in the inland sea by the Seto Bridge that Sadaaki Hojou let you complete in (1305) for Kagen three years were connected by land.

A follower of Ashikaga received it after Kamakura Shogunate extinction, but Kanto district administrator Uesugi often clashed with Kamakura prefecture (Kamakura Shogun) over the rule. It was influential people in the Uesugis who 大喜光昌 considered to be subordinates of Norikata Uesugi was a ruler of Mutsuura in the Oei era year, and served as Awa sub-military commissioner of the opposite bank. Afterwards Kamakura Shogun Mochiuji Ashikaga a weel field assistant; give good (is said to be the weel field assistant と equivalence person who had a base in the Boso area than an entering the government service name) an order for the protection of the Shomiyo temple, and is said to the temple that is because it was going to maintain the communication with the Boso area via Mutsuura to escape when lost in a revolt of Eikyo. After Uesugi occupied Kamakura, it is said that it was 太田道灌 to have ruled over Mutsuura with Kamakura by a revolt of the Kyotoku era. It is thought that the reason why a legend concerning 道灌 reaches the only field where there is no evidence (probably it is said that it was the rule by the chief administrator) where 道灌 influenced Mutsuura directly is that Mutsuura of this time strongly received influence of Ota and Uesugi who is the master's residence. The sedimentation of the earth and sand to the inlet gradually advances, and the function with all can be limited to outside Suzaki and Segasaki from the inland sea, and it is said that I declined when I enter for the age of civil strife by the prosperity of Minato, Shinagawa, but it is thought that the figure as the city really continued until the beginning in the Edo era. In the course that linked Kamakura to the Boso area, Mutsuura or a place to depend on the traffic on the seas that went by way of outside Suzaki for was in particular big. Yoshitoyo Satomi of Awa attacks Mutsuura at the time of Kamakura attack in addition, and the reason why I escaped to Kanazawa alive because Mariyatsu Nobutaka of the Kazusa country expects a comeback is that Mutsuura was a point binding Boso and Musashi, the Sagami area together. In addition, in the case of the Odawara conquest of Hideyoshi Toyotomi, Yusai Hosokawa visits Mutsuura.

I it after the early modern times

The role of the political economy as the city of Mutsuura (Kamakura) moved in the Edo era and declined. It is said that I became a ghost town when Soho Takuan visited this ground. It became inconspicuous any place other than side "Kanazawahakkei" called the sightseeing spot which was near Edo although a feudal clan agency of the Mutsuura feudal clan was set up later. In addition, it became the passage point to the Uraga city magistrate's office. (Uraga way)

It became the Hisayoshi, Kanagawa Funato county Mutsuura Zhuang village in (1889) in 1889. By the progress as the naval port of the adjacent Yokosuka Port by inning creation (the neighborhood of current Kanto Gakuin) of the neighborhood of Segasaki of the city boundary of 海軍航空技術廠支廠 (factory worker training school) was installed. It is - 海軍航空技術廠支廠開設 (1941) in current Seto on April 1 for 1,941 years. Becoming it went ahead through the city by the construction of the dormitory and house.

I am admitted into Isogo-ku, Yokohama-shi in (1936) in 1936. (1948) Kanazawa-ku independently separated it from Isogo-ku.

It was in the bedroom town of the people who left for Tokyo, Yokohama rapidly particularly after the war after Shonan electric railroad was inaugurated in (1930) in 1930 and made Keihin Railway Corporation (Keikyu in the back) and mutual entry (it merges later) in the next year.
