Mitsushimacho (みつしまちょう) is a town of Kyushu southern in north offing, Tsushima in the northern part of Nagasaki. I belonged to Shimoagata-gun.

I made the top vs. Umamachi, Kamiagata-cho, Minecho, Toyotamacho, Izuharamachi and the merger (new merger) (2004) on March 1 in 2004, and it was a part of Tsushima-shi. In addition, the reading of "Mitsushimacho" staying as the place name of Tsushima-shi is "みつしままち".

※Assign a kanji of "鷄知" to "a stingy person" in this clause, but is right; "雞 intellect" (the structure of the character of "鷄" is not "a bird" "隹").

Geography

Rias coasts develop well, and the total extension of the shoreline is known for 403.3km as a town having a long shoreline Japan's most. The altitude is low, but mountain がちで, 87% of land are mountainous districts in the whole. A steep mountain of the 300-500m grade ranges in the neighborhood of town boundary with particularly southwest Izuharamachi. The northern short cogongrass coastal line is a hill-related mountainous district approximately 50-200m. In the manned island, with Okinoshima in the eastern part other than anti-Majima; there is a miniature mountain island more in a short cogongrass gulf red Island to the east, and, in Okinoshima and the miniature mountain island, anti-Majima and the red island are bound together each at a bridge with Okinoshima.

In the village, 27 districts, many inlets are dotted with around 300 small things from a population of 50 people except 鷄知地区 and large Funakoshi district, and there is the road distance between these villages number km degree apart. The large Funakoshi district faces large Funakoshi Seto that is a waterway of the population to connect short cogongrass gulf and the Tsushima East Coast. 鷄知地区 is a town center ward at the town office location, and the population is approximately 3,000 people. Plural large stores were located along the national highway of the Kechi district after the 1990s and played key role that the Tsushima commerce was new.

History

Change of the governorate

  • 下県郡鷄知村, Takeshiki-mura, Funakoshi village starts by - islands municipality organization enforcement (1908) on April 1 in 1908.
  • - 鷄知村 incorporates Takeshiki-mura (1932) on April 1 in 1932.
  • - 鷄知村 enforces town organization (1940) on October 17 in 1940 and becomes 鷄知町.

Prehistory

A living-in-agency of Abiru who was Tsushima country provincial governor was put late in the Heian era and was the center of Tsushima until Takashi became a provincial governor. Great Funakoshi Seto who was the first waterway which connected the West Coast and the East Coast of Tsushima in the Edo era was excavated. A naval station part was put in the Meiji era, and ten thousand Seki Seto was excavated by the Japanese Navy.
