LM guide

The LM guide (えるえむ guide) is a machine element part guiding the straight line athletic club of the machine using "a trundle". The name is abbreviation of "Linear Motion Guide" (linear motion guide).

It is a trademark of THK.

Summary

THK develops it and begins to sell it in 1972. THK put "I become the volution of the straight line athletic club" to practical use for the first time in the world. Many makers sell the product of the genre, but THK gets the highest share, and, as for the estimated share, it is approximately 60% in the official name in domestic approximately 70%, world.
