Inuit (Inuit) is one of the Eskimo system races of the indigenous people living in the ice and snow zones of the northern part of Canada and is a Mongoloid racially same as a Japanese. It is a race of the Eskimo maximum.

"An Inuit" and "Eskimo"

Because the Eskimo race living in Canada and Greenland refuses the name called "an Eskimo", I am not called "an Eskimo" publicly.

On the other hand, a point lives in Alaska an Eskimo called "ユピック" and "イヌピアット", and イヌピアット is an Inuit race and same kind group, but ユピック is not Inuit. In late years "the Inuit" is abused as another name of "the Eskimo", but it is not right. "An Inuit" is a Canadian Eskimo, and "an Eskimo" may be used in Alaska, but the formal race name is イヌピアット and ユピック. I refuse to be called "an Inuit" including イヌピアット included in the Inuit of the wide sense in Alaska. It is a clear mistake to call ユピック an Inuit.

The race name "Inuit" is the pretense of the Canada Eskimo. The plural form of Inuk meaning "a person" by イヌクティトゥット word namely "people" mean.

The Inuit of Greenland is often called color Ritt. "The Inuit" limits it to Canada and, for such circumstances, may use it. But there is no great difference and a Canadian Inuit between other local Inuits culturally.

I am often called the first nationalities (First Nations) in conjunction with Indians system races such as Algonquians in Canada. By the way, neither "an Algonquian nor" "the first nationalities" is the racial names.

Residential area

I live in Yukon Territory that is states of the Canadian North Coast, northwest associate state, ヌナヴト associate state, Quebec, Newfoundland, Alaska of the United States of America, Greenland of the Denmark territory. Self-government (the first nationality) of a race is accomplished in ヌナヴト in particular.

Distribution of the イヌクティトゥット word (Inuit language). You may think with approximately Inuit distribution. I am separated by color in a dialect.

The inherent language is vested in an Eskimo Aleut group by イヌクティトゥット word. The dialect spoken in Greenland is invited to all Greenlandic of them.

English, French, Danish of the official language of each country are spreading out, too.

Roman letters are used for the letter for notation of the イヌクティトゥット word in the whole area, but the Canadian indigenous people letter is used together in Canada, too.
