One of the typical S type asteroids where Callisto (204 Kallisto) did a bright color to be located in the asteroid belt.
Austrian astronomer, Johan パリサ discovered it in Paula (existing Croatia territory pooler) on October 8, 1879.
I was named for one of the nymphs Callisto who appeared in the Greek myth. This is the etymology same as satellite Callisto (Callisto) of the Jupiter, but the spelling is different.
Occultation was observed in Iwate in December, 2002.
