I am known as hometown of St. Francesco who is the founder of the Francisco society and am a city having the character as the Christian pilgrimage place. Position, expanse
In コムーネ located in the central part of the Perugia prefecture, I am the west foot of the Mt. スバシオ (). The city of Assisi got on the hill from prefecture capital Perugia to south-southeast from approximately 19km, リエーティ to the north from approximately 77km, Ancona to the southwest from approximately 95km, capital Rome to the north in the distance of approximately 131km [4].
The Assisi city as the local government (コムーネ) includes suburbs part in the range, and the city limits area extends to 186.84 km2.

History
Prehistory, ancient
In about B.C. 1000, the first immigrant appeared in the area from the ティベレ upper part of a river basin including around Assisi to the Adriatic Sea.
