Shoseki Kose
Shoseki Kose (cough to go, and to carry, October 21, 1843 (Tenpo era September 28, 14) -1919 age (1919) September 17) is a Japanese painter of modern times. The real name is 八田金起. I drew a Buddhist painting and a painting of flowers and birds and gave glory to the last of the Kose group mainly.

Person, origin
By Yamashiro country (Osakacho, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto-shi) birth, father is Kose gold view. The house produced a Buddhist painting from generation to generation under the pretense of "Hisashi Hatta Court Security Office".
I learn poetry from Kamiyama Otori positive with a Japanese painting to Renzan Kishi of the bank group, Koseki Nakanishi of the southern school of Chinese painting in Kyoto. I was aware of family while I did it this way and returned to Kose of this family name according to Kose family tree of the family lore and called myself "Kanaoka Koseno 38th grandchild".
I wander about through each place, and it is studied far away from the home afterwards in 1878 by (1878), 清国 at the time. I told the picture after returning home in Kyoto image school (current Kyoto City University of Arts), Peers' Club branch office image school and took office as Tokyo Bijutsu school (current Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music) professor from (1890) in 1890.
I came back to Kyoto in the later years and made a Japanese southern school of Chinese painting association with Chokunyu Tanomura and Tessai Tomioka and others and acted for the revival of the Kyoto painting circles that declined in 東京奠都後.
