Portugal territory Timor pataca
The Portugal territory Timor pataca is the currency unit that circulated from 1894 through 1958 in Portugal territory Timor (current East Timor). But Netherlands territory India guilder and Netherlands territory India rupiah were used during 1942 through 1945 when the Japanese military during World War II occupied this area.
In the beginning of introduction, Macao pataca was used, but paper money for Timor was published after 1910. The Portugal territory Timor pataca was replaced with a rate of 1 pataca = 5.6 escudos to Portugal territory Timor escudo in 1958.
