Sir David Gill (Sir David Gill, from June 12, 1843 to January 24, 1914) is a Scotland-born astronomer. I was appointed from 1879 through 1906 by "Her Majesty's Astronomer" and observed the star of the nandin at a South African cape astronomical observatory. It is the pioneer who used a photograph technology for astronomy observation.
I learned beginning horography and turned in astronomy because I cooperated in the plan of the private astronomical observatory of James Lindsey. I observed Mars in Ascension Island in 1877 and precision was good and found the earth and distance of the sun. I was appointed at an astronomical observatory of South African Cape of Good Hope from 1879 by "Her Majesty's Astronomer" and observed the nandin for the next 26 years.
