JR card

JR card

It is one of the credit cards which the JR card is the green window, tourist bureau of the JR group and can use for the purchase of various tickets including a ticket, the limited express ticket.

Summary

I assume JNR card published in (1985) in 1985 of Japanese National Railways Era by the tie-up with 45 influential credit card company eight groups at the time the origin. Eight groups are as follows.

The JNR card started the handling experimentally at the green window of main stations than August 23, 1985 of the whole country. The recruitment of members starts from July 1, the same year. I raised it at first only in Kanto, Kansai area, but I carried it out in earnest in the next year and recruited members in the whole country.

I was renamed to the current name after Japanese National Railways division and privatization, and the JR traveler companies succeeded as a joint product. However, the specialty as the credit card which was usable alone at a green window was lost afterwards because Hokkaido published company's original house card (Hokkaido stopped a new application afterwards, but enters it again in 2010) and started the handling of the credit card of the international brand (VISA, MasterCard) again with JR with the Honshu companies from the late 1990s. Therefore JCB, Mitsubishi UFJ Nikos UFJ → MUFG, DC, the NICOS brand stop the line from the individual member newcomer by the JR card and continue the update of the member who has been enrolled in and the new publication of the corporate member [6]. Mitsui Sumitomo card Credit Saison does not have a publication in the official site and becomes the form to order an application by the request with the telephone.

Characteristic

  • A method that the signature is unnecessary when I purchase a ticket at a green window and inputs a password by keypad.
  • I change a ticket (except the special plan tickets which are not released in other companies) which I purchased by a card in JR card handling tellers of the whole country and can refund it (unnecessary "refund proposals" when I applied at other companies window entirely).
  • A base rate is 10%% off when I show it at the time of check-in in JR hotel group.
  • It is available with a rail & rent-a-car fare when I show it in the office of the station rent-a-car.
  • I was able to purchase "Orange Card" (I sell it until 2012) which was usable in JR at a green window.
  • I can use JR card any place other than the green window. (it supports the automatic ticket machines such as limited express tickets)

Using JR card, I am displayed with "credit" in the face of a bill of the ticket which I purchased with a green window and ticket vendor and am distinguished from the ticket which I purchased by a general credit card (I am displayed with "a C system" by the general credit card, and a change and refund are limited any place other than JR traveler company and the travel agency which I purchased). But when settle it by JR card while talk by the reservation service (5489 services) by the call that West Japan Railway performs; (except the settlement at the station) in a system as the public card (international brand) treat it and is printed with "a C system" and is issued (handling of a change and the refund is limited with a general card equally, too).

In the case of the refund, the JR card which I purchased is necessary like a general credit card. As for the few case and the window where is impossible of the handling, the case to deal with out of necessity in the inside of car, it is handling same as what I refunded at the time by receiving refund proof. It is necessary that the real refund (repayment) procedure brings proven ticket and the JR card which I purchased in a handling window within one year from an original sale date and performs it.
