Shiro Hirai (ひらいしろう) is an editor of Sanseido. I entered the company in (1923) in 1923 and, through 編修所長 of 三省堂編修所, a publication director, the managing director, became the professor at Seijo University.

I publish (1946), the Hirai edition "how to speak with the conversation manual U.S. soldier" in 1946. A collection of simple English conversation was published just after the end of the war by many publishers, but nothing as for this. I made a hit for a product of this time.

For the publication director era, I asked Hidetoshi Kenbo for the editing of the clear and lucid Japanese dictionary and asked Haruhiko Kindaichi for the editing of the clear and lucid archaic word dictionary again.
