Motoaki Okuma
Motoaki Okuma (Kumamoto autumn, 1936 -) is Japanese sylviculturist, PH.D, Agriculture. Professor emeritus at Tokyo University. A specialty is forest industry-university co-operation, creature resources science. A member of Science Council of Japan (the 16th).

Origin
I act as a professor at Tokyo University department of agriculture after completion from 1987 through 97 in Tokyo University graduate school and study the quality of wood materials as creature resources. I become a professor at Kyushu University department of agriculture after retirement age retirement as professor emeritus at Tokyo University until 2000. As an advisor at department of Miyazaki Tsutomu Hayashi, I am engaged in the establishment of the use of Miyazaki wood technology center and take office as Manager of center afterwards. In addition, I acted as Director of incorporated administrative agency Forestry and Forest Products Res. Inst. until 2007.
The title of the 1966 Tokyo University PH.D, Agriculture article "the study on mechanical property of the plywood" [1].
In addition, I successively held Japan Wood Research Society's chairperson, Japanese agriculture society's chairperson, Honorary Chairman quality of wood structure meeting for the study, Chairperson Japanese wood processing technique association. Quality of wood structure meeting for the study Motoaki Okuma Prize is founded in 2002.
