The Ghanaian President
| The Republic of Ghana |
|The term of office||Four years (three selections of prohibition)|
|The first generation||Kwame Nkrumah|
|The foundation||1960July 1|
In the Ghanaian Presidents (Ghanaian のだいとうりょう), I write it down about the President who is head of state of the Republic of Ghana of West Africa. The Republic of Ghana became independent in 1957, but was the Commonwealth of Nations kingdom which assumed the British king the sovereign until 1960. Here, I escape from the Commonwealth of Nations kingdom and write down the President from July 1, 1960 when I spread republican form of government and fixed the President for head of state.
There was the period when the head of the military regime served as head of state, but wrote it down in the list in a mass.

According to the present Constitution of the promulgation, the President is elected in 1992 by the direct election of the nation; the term of office is four years. Three selections are prohibited. A presidential candidate must be the Ghanaian nation 40 years or older (Ghana occurs of the candidate or Ghana occurs of the parents of the candidate). In addition, the presidential candidate appoints the running mate, and, as for the electoral campaign, a principal and vice presidential candidate fights with a set.
Ghana is a republic of the presidential system and serves as the head of the executive branch at the same time as the President is head of state. I have the power of appointment of the cabinet minister (there is no premiership), but approval of the Diet is necessary after nomination. I use the executive power of high command and the international treaty of the military, the amnesty right and sometimes the national Notstandrecht.
A national council exists to the President and functions as a consultative body for the Presidents.
