Suginami Ward ゆうゆう building (I do it) is a facility for municipal elderly people for 60 years old or more in Suginami-ku, Tokyo. I changed the name of the previous respect for the old hall leisurely with a hall in (2006) in 2006. There is 32 building and a non profit organization or a company is given all in trust and runs it in a ward.

History

I install respect for the old Hall as the ground of an increase of the health, improvement of the culture and the recreation and will act for an increase of the old man welfare for elderly people of the residence in Suginami-ku 60 years or older based on the old man welfare method (1963) in August 1963. I installed "the respect for the old hall" which was small facilities in each place in the ward as imminent set facilities that an elderly person enjoyed a hobby in an area and worked hard at definite aim activity.

In a process until setting, some seemed to say whether setting of the facilities by the ward concerned was double administration with the measures of the capitals in the Suginami-ku assembly, but pushed forward setting of the respect for the old Hall from a ground, the ward side "thought that the thing which the capital did was to a welfare center for the old, and it was not against a purpose of the double administration to have other facilities".

A Suginami Ward respect for the old hall, the first was upper Ogikubo respect for the old hall and was opened (1963) on the second floor of the Ogikubo branch office of 32, Sekinemachi (existing 3-16-6, Kamiogi) in November in 1963. I comprised stereo 電蓄装置, disk and the air-conditioning appliance, and the latest apparatus and facilities were given for those days (Suginami-ku public information paper October 5, 1963 issue).

I built more it at a pace of the two a year building and, from the late 30s of the Showa era through the 50s, built the 27 building every year afterwards for 17 years.
