King record Co., Ltd. (KING RECORD CO., LTD.) is a Japanese recordmaker. It started as a music section of Kodansha (大日本雄辯會講談社) which was a publishing company for 1,931 years. As for the logo notation, KING RECORDS is used mainly, but the lion mark used from prewar days exists.

Summary
It is founded as 大日本雄辯會講談社系列 in 1931. The company name is associated with lowest common denominator magazine "King" whom the company published.
