It is lyase of the carbon-carbon bonding which decarboxylation enzyme (Carboxy-lyases) adds a carboxyl group to an organic compound and removes. I say decarboxylase (decarboxylases). These enzymes catalyze the decarboxylation such as amino acid, α and β keto acid [1].

Table of contents

A classification and naming

The decarboxylation enzymes are classified in EC number 4.1.1 [2]. For example, enzymes catalyzing pyruvate decarboxylation take the name of the substrate to catalyze, and they are usually named to be called pyruvate decarboxylase (pyruvate decarboxylation enzyme).
