IBM Bluemix (IBM blue mixture) is a brand name of the cloud service of IBM. It was started as PaaS service for developers in 2014, but SoftLayer which was IaaS service was changed a name of to IBM Bluemix Infrastructure in October, 2016, and brands were unified.
Summary
In June, 2014, IBM Bluemix was announced as PaaS service to be able to perform construction, introduction, management of the cloud application quickly [1]. Bluemix supports integrated DevOps for making, practice, placement to manage plural programming languages and service and the application in the cloud. Bluemix is based on open technology of Cloud Foundry and operates on infrastructure of SoftLayer.
In announcement of October, 2016, Bluemix became the brand name of the whole cloud service of IBM, and was purchased in 2013, and IaaS service of IBM and IBM SoftLayer where it was were changed the name from to IBM Bluemix Infrastructure, and the unification of the ID for the user of each service was announced, too [2]; [3].
