Alien (X-files)

I describe TV drama "X-files" broadcasted in the United States of America and an alien appearing to the first product for theater in this clause. During a drama, it was described as the existence that the alien crossed a syndicate and a hand in the government, and was going to serve as the settlement to the earth. However, there was the development that previous setting was overturned at one sweep in new series Episode 1 "My Struggle" broadcasted in 2016.

Summary

According to "mythology" (plot of the government and the alien) developed through the "X-files" whole, the alien visited the earth from the far-off past when a human being got civilization. The figure of the alien who came of age is so-called "gray type alien" itself. The skin of the infant alien gets yellowish, and there is a scale and is tall, and a temper is rough. A tusk and the sharp pick grow. This is born, and the interval is provided because a few individual grows it safely. When is come of age, the individual sheds off the skin with skin of the scale [1]; [2]. The larval figure of the alien is similar to human reptiles.

Because the virus which maintained a life function when exposed to extreme cold was inactivated, the alien came to have to leave the earth during (70,000 years ago - 10,000 years ago) in the last glacial epoch. The alien thought about time when I came back and hid black oil in the underground on leaving the earth. The genetic information of the alien was included in black oil, and the information became the updated appointment when an alien returned to the earth. Aliens who left the earth ran around the space looking for an intellectual living entity and conquered them as soon as they found it. Aliens were going to become a ruler of the space [3]. As a Maya foretold it according to the cigarette smoking man, the alien was going to return to the earth on December 22, 2012 [4]. However, I have fallen under the influence of the magnetite that the spaceship which flew over New Mexico in 1947 was included in the nearby rock. It is "the Roswell case" that this says in the life. As a result of this case, some influential people such as the United States of America or the Soviet Union have known existence and the settlement plan of the alien [4]. A syndicate was formed in order to check the settlement. In the member, cigarette smoking man, well マニキュアード man, William Mulder (father of the Mulder investigator) have a pain, too [5].

When the syndicate which wanted to check the settlement made the earth a "nuclear winter" state in an A-bomb, I threatened an alien. If the earth becomes the environment of the severe cold, the alien cannot live in the earth. The alien who received a threat came to cannot but cancel a plan to invade the earth immediately. And the alien started the negotiations with the syndicate. When a syndicate and the alien planned coexistence on the earth in 1973 by making a human part a human mixed blood class with an alien, I reached the agreement [6]. By 2012 when the main military of the alien arrived at the earth, the human being came to have to create mixed blood classes under the cooperation of the alien. However, the completed mixed blood kind was destined to be employed as a slave of the aliens even if an experiment to make a mixed blood class succeeded. Therefore the syndicate and cooperators were not able to give the decision that became hybrid [7]. In exchange for a syndicate cooperating with the settlement, the alien provided own fetus as materials of the experiments to make a mixed blood class. In addition, I admitted that I converted a part of the high technology of the alien into a military technology. Besides, I donated an alien such as バウンティハンター to the syndicate as an agent [8]. The alien arranged it so that the member of the syndicate and the successor could live after the settlement safely [6].

As a matter of course, a syndicate and the both sides of the alien had hidden expectations. Because the syndicate relieved all the human, was going to develop the vaccine of the virus of the alien [9]; [3]. The alien transmitted the human to black oil and was going to become a slave, but black oil has produced new variety of aliens in the process of the experiment. The new kind refused the settlement of the alien, and demanded the prosperity of their kinds [1]; [2].

バウンティハンター

Summary

バウンティハンター is a group of aliens who stand, and are at the position who are different from an alien promoting the settlement [10]. The alien has ability to change a figure, but バウンティハンター has particularly high heteromorphic ability. It processes the exclusion of the human being / alien who makes use of the ability, and interferes with the settlement plan and the trace that an alien was. The blood of バウンティハンター is green, and a retrovirus is included. When a human being is infected with a powerful thing, the virus results in death. In addition, mortal between the people who touched it that blood in itself gives off a poisonous gas by the strong acidity and congeals human blood to a gelatinous material (I can prevent solidification by a megadose of heparin).

Like other aliens, I cannot but stick the root of the neck exactly to spoil バウンティハンター. バウンティハンター carries an ice pick-formed weapon to suppress the failure of the alien and mixed blood class. When バウンティハンター dies, the body dissolves by acid blood and misses.

The rebel army to mention later is an alien same as バウンティハンター. In addition, an unrivaled soldier will take the duty that バウンティハンター took in the series latter half.

Design

バウンティハンター came up for the first time in Episode 16 "settlement Part.1" in 2 in a season. I receive an idea of David Duchovny playing Mulder investigator and am the character whom Chris Carter and Frank spot Nitze devised. Carter tells, "Duchovny comes to me, and I who said, and thought that it is surely so entered the work to work out the idea.", "I think that the alien like the bounty hunter should come out to a story." [11].

Carter and spot Nitze were not able to spare much time to elect the actor who played バウンティハンター, but examination was performed particularly carefully because I thought to let バウンティハンター come up through the whole series. Of spot Nitze "do unique looks; Brian Thompson was appointed as the part of バウンティハンター partly because pointed it out, a face and a mouth are extremely characteristic.". After appearance was decided formally, the production staff told the agent of Thompson saying "it was the existence like the pilot of the air force, and therefore バウンティハンター wants Thompson to fix the hair briefly.". However, it was not handed down to Thompson by a slip-up. Therefore the hairstyle of バウンティハンター has become the thing which came off from an original concept [12].

Evaluation from a critic

The evaluation from a critic for バウンティハンター was almost good. "The den of geek" picks バウンティハンター in "the character Top Ten of X-files" and comments, "it is the very strong servant for alien." [13].

Black oil

Summary

The black oil is known by the name of "purity class" "black cancer". Oil だまりで where the oil is in the basement of the earth is the virus of the alien who propagated. When a virus infects a human being, the human being is robbed of discretion by a virus. The virus which infected a human being has a sense and becomes able to plan the communication. The alien uses black oil as a biological weapon, and it is recognized that I aim at the conquest of the space.

The syndicate which received the cooperation of the alien explored a method to scatter a virus included in the black oil to the human on the occasion of the settlement. And it occurs to me that I use the African bee which the aggressiveness extremely resists. The syndicate performed selective breeding of corn by gene-recombination technology and brought about the kind that an African bee was more strongly made come near. I intended to scatter the bee which transmitted a virus by scattering the corn in many places. The bee transmits human beings to a virus before the settlement and changes the human being to the slave of the alien. The syndicate which was going to prevent it started development of the vaccine. It was called a "pureblood rule" plan. However, the plan has failed. On the other hand, the Russian organization succeeded in development of the vaccine. The syndicate succeeded in obtaining the vaccine.

The reason why a syndicate tested it in cooperation with an alien was that I obtained necessary black oil for vaccine development. The development of this vaccine did not advance smoothly, but was able to finally make weak vaccine of the effect. It is the vaccine to have been given to Sculley seized with a spaceship of the South Pole with the first product for theater. Through the case that happened with the first product, Mulder and Sculley and the syndicate only knew that they could hide without black oil taking over a human body.

As for the fetus, it is in either which changes into the larva of the alien 96 hours later, or the temperature of the pregnant woman suddenly rises, and results in death when infected with the virus which black oil includes during the pregnancy.

Design

The black oil came up for the first time in the Episode 15 "bottom of the sea" in 3 in a season. The black oil was expressed with CG. The production staff repeated trial and error to express black oil with a real material. As a result, a mixture of acetone and the oil will be used. With the property to be easy to be finished spherically when hang down this mixture [11].

It is the season 8 Episode 18 "arrival" that black oil came up in a main volume last. In this episode, the black oil was expressed using waste molasses and chocolate syrup. Because I cannot control waste molasses and overspill of the syrup, it is said that a retake was performed nine times until it becomes the overspill staff just as wanted. But the scene where I leaked from human eyes, nose, ear, and black oil appeared was expressed by CG [14].

Evaluation from a critic

The evaluation of the critic for the black oil was almost good. "The den of geek" picked the murder drumstick which carried black oil and it in "the character Top Ten" of "X-files" [13]. I describe the site as it about black oil saying "the evilness is good, and the black oil is central existence of the large-scale alien settlement plan to do the core." of "the mythology" and state, "the audience would like it" about the murder drumstick [13]. The site appreciates the description of the murder drumstick with the first product for theater and states, it "had a big influence on that movie that it may be said that I was in the Pantheon of the cool evil as for the murder drumstick in that movie, and a murder drumstick appeared." [13].

Rebel army

Summary

A rebel army is group of the aliens performing the resistance movement for it against the settlement to the earth. The rebel army is an alien same as バウンティハンター, but is not affected by the virus included in the black oil. The rebel army does grotesque looks. I completely block up eyes, a mouth, an ear, the nose to prevent black oil from invading the body. The settlement of the alien was advancing in the mother star of the rebel army, but it was exempted that the member of the rebel army served an alien as バウンティハンター [15]. But, in the rebel army, the human fights against each other. The rebel army has a weapon burning a human being to death instantly and does not hesitate about using it. The rebel army burns a human being kidnapped by an alien to death in order to prevent the settlement of the alien [3].

The rebel army concentrates all energy on preventing it from being known that a hybrid experiment succeeded to an alien (in later Cassandra Spender). The rebel army was able to spoil Cassandra, but selected that a syndicate kept it alive in consideration of their possibility to support it. The rebel army intended to announce existence of Cassandra in the world if a syndicate refused the cooperation to oneself. The rebel army got into the syndicate inside, and they tried to guide it to the direction against the settlement of the alien, but were over for failure. The syndicate judged that it was useless to resist the settlement [16].

The syndicate was not able to develop vaccine with enough effects at all here either. Therefore the syndicate did not have the way according to the original promise with the alien unless I let the experiment of the hybrid succeed. And the syndicate was going to send a message to be time when you should start the settlement to settlers. The rebel army which felt it annihilated a syndicate and the family who were going to escape on the earth to survive. But Diana ファウリー, two people of the cigarette smoking man missed it. 一方、エイリアンはハイブリッド実験が失敗に終わったと思い込み、2012年12月22日に予定されていた地球入植の日を延期しないことを決めた[6]。

Design

フランク・スポットニッツは「反乱軍はエイリアンに誘拐された人間を殺そうとしているが、人間にとっては強力な味方なんだ。」「反乱軍と人類は天の川銀河において、高度な文明を築き上げ、かつ、ブラックオイルに侵略されていないただ2つの種だ。」「「ファイト・ザ・フューチャー Part.2」でモルダー（人類）がエイリアンに負けた。反乱軍がカサンドラ・スペンダー（人間とエイリアンのハイブリッド）をエイリアンに渡さなかった結果、地球への入植を止めることができなくなってしまった。」と述べている[17]。

『X-ファイル』シリーズの特殊効果の責任者を務めるトニー・リンダラが反乱軍の外見を決めた[18]。しかし、スポットニッツは「ファイト・ザ・フューチャー Part.2」での反乱軍の描写には問題があったとしている。スポットニッツは「あれは『X-ファイル』の中でも最も酷い出来だ。製作段階で十分な時間をかけなかったのが原因だ。」と述べている[17]。

ハイブリッド

第二次世界大戦の直後、実験に協力する代わりに戦争に加担した罪を免れたドイツと日本の科学者たちによって、エイリアンと人間のハイブリッドを生み出す実験が始まった。しかし、一向に成功しなかったため、シンジケートは自前の研究者にも実験させ始めた。1950年代にはソビエト連邦の科学者のチームが一卵性双生児の持つ遺伝子に特徴的な部分があることを発見した。エイリアンとシンジケートはその成果を利用してエイリアンの遺伝子を組み込んだクローン人間や不完全なハイブリッド種を生み出す実験を行ったが、満足のいく成果は上がらなかった[19]。

この実験の過程で生まれたのがサマンサ・モルダー（シーズン2第17話「入植 Part.1」などに登場）やウィリアム・セカーレ博士（シーズン1第24話「三角フラスコ」に登場）である。クローンたちの血液はエイリアンと同様に、強酸性で緑色をしている。また、水中での呼吸ができる上に、通常の人間より身体能力がはるかに高い。エイリアンとシンジケートはクローンを自らの手先として利用していた[11]。

事態が急転したのは、カサンドラ・スペンダー（シガレット・スモーキング・マンの元妻、ジェフリー・スペンダーの母親）が人間とエイリアンのハイブリッドとなったことである。カサンドラがなぜハイブリッドになったのかは劇中で明示されていないが、シンジケートとエイリアンが行っていた実験による成果ではないことは確かである。また、カサンドラがハイブリッドになった時期は、シンジケートが人質として自分たちの家族をエイリアンに差し出した1973年以降であると推定される[16]。何年もの間、カサンドラは自分が「人類により高度な精神世界に関する知識を伝達するためにエイリアンが派遣した使者」だと思い込んでいた[3]。しかし、1990年代後半にエイリアンに誘拐された際に、カサンドラは自らがハイブリッドであることを知ってしまった[16]。最終的に、カサンドラは反乱軍によって焼き殺された[6]。

シーズン6最終話「創世記」で、モルダーはオーパーツに触れてしまい、人の心が分かるようになってしまった。そして、モルダーは昏睡状態に陥った。スカリーはモルダーの治療法を探し回り、最終的に一冊の本に行き着いた。その本にはネイティブ・アメリカンの信仰とその実践に関する内容が書かれていた。その中に特殊能力を手放し人類の救世主となるための方法が詳述されていた。その頃、シガレット・スモーキング・マンは昏睡状態のモルダーを連れ出し、ある実験を行った。スモーキング・マンはモルダーこそが完璧なハイブリッドであると信じ込み、その遺伝子を入手しようとしたのである。スモーキング・マンはモルダーの遺伝子を利用して自らが生涯をかけて取り組んできた陰謀を完遂し、来るべきエイリアンの入植を生き延びようとしたのである[20]。

無敵兵士（スーパーソルジャー）

Summary

シンジケートが壊滅したため、エイリアンは自分たちが地球上にいた痕跡を消し去り、無敵兵士と呼ばれる種を作り出そうとした。無敵兵士は、ハイブリッド実験が失敗に終わった（とエイリアンが思い込んだ）ために新たに考案されたものである。エイリアンはハイブリッド種の代わりに無敵兵士を自らの奴隷として使役しようとしたのである[21][22]。エイリアンは無敵兵士を作るにあたって、人間を新種のウイルスに感染させた。そのウイルスはゆっくりと人体を蝕み、その後に宿主の体を再構成するという作用を持つ。劇中の描写を見る限り、人間を新種のウイルスに感染させるには大掛かりな外科的処置を施す必要がある[23]。

無敵兵士の血は人間と同じく赤色であるため不審に思われずに済む。また、ウイルスに感染させることができれば、権力者も無敵兵士にすることができる。この2点において、無敵兵士はエイリアンが入植を進める上で理想の存在であった。（ただし、無敵兵士の首の付け根には突起があり、それで無敵兵士を見分けることは容易ではある。また、無敵兵士の血液を詳細に分析すれば、金属を含有したDNAが検出される。）無敵兵士はバウンティハンターのように姿形を変えることはできないが、ごみの粉砕機で砕かれようとも絶対に死ぬことはなく、素手で金属をへし折ることもできる。無敵兵士は戦力として極めて優れている[24]。

ただし、無敵兵士にも一つだけ弱点がある。無敵兵士はその生命を維持するシステムとして金属を多く取り込んでいる。そのため、磁鉄鉱（強い磁性を有する）に触れると肉体が引き裂かれてしまうのである。エイリアンは無敵兵士を使うことで、人間の協力者を頼ることなく入植を進めることができるようになった。シリーズ最終盤において、無敵兵士はかつてのシンジケートのような勢力にまで成長し、モルダーとスカリーをFBIから追い出すことに成功した。無敵兵士たちは2012年12月22日のエイリアンの地球入植に向けて着々と準備を進めていくのだろう。

Evaluation from a critic

無敵兵士に対する批評家の評価は否定的なものとなっている。これは『X-ファイル』がシーズン9で不完全な終わり方をしたことに起因するものである。『A.V.クラブ』は「新しく生み出された「無敵兵士」に関するストーリーラインは、いいアイデアと悪いアイデアのごった煮になってしまった。」と述べている[25]。ただし、酷評ばかりではない。『デン・オブ・ギーク』は無敵兵士を「『X-ファイル』のキャラクタートップ10」に選出し、『X-ファイル』をシーズン7で終わらせなかったスタッフの選択を称賛した。しかし、「以前のキャラクターほど興味を惹かれないものであることは確かだ」と述べている[13]。
