Mizuho, Ota

Mizuho, Ota (おおたみずほ, 1876 (1876) from December 9 to 1955 (1955) January 1) is a Japanese poet, student of Japanese literature. The real name Teiichi Ota, one of another name, Mizuho.

Life

I am born in the Higashichikuma-gun, Nagano Hirooka village (existing Shiojiri-shi). I enter the Nagano normal school (existing Shinshu University Department of Education). I am interested in poetry during attendance at school and place "和歌日抄" in Shinano Mainichi Shimbun including a contribution of the new style poetry in literary magazine "literary world". A classmate has Akahiko Shimaki. After graduation, I become the teacher of the Matsumoto girls' high school (existing Matsumoto, Nagano ant ヶ 崎高等学校). I start for my new post to Principal of Wada elementary school afterwards. I come to have friendship with Utsubo Kubota these days and form 31-syllable Japanese poem club "this flower society" with quiver and others. I announce songbook "soup 艸" (1902) in 1902. I publish "in 赤彦 and Lake Yamagami" in (1905) in 1905. I become song estrade selector of Shinano Mainichi Shimbun in (1907) in 1907.

I go to Tokyo (1908) in 1908. I become a professor at ethic course of the Japanese dentistry medical college (existing Nippon Dental College). Mitsuko Shiga and the marriage that were from the same town (1909) for 1,909 years, and were "this flower society" member. I wrote a 31-syllable Japanese poem besides the teaching profession with a wife. The Kishi, Ota child of the relative lodges these days and gets to know Bokusui Wakayama who visited the Mizuho's house and will get married later. I launch tanka magazine "sound of waves" (1915) in 1915 and become the sponsorship. I concentrated power on an essay on tanka poetry and a classic study. I form "a Basho meeting for the study" with Jiro Abe, Yoshishige Abe, Rohan Kouda, Toyotaka Komiya, Tetsuro Watsuji (1920) in 1920. I took literary arts of Basho Matsuo in the world of the tanka. "An illness wild goose debate" happened between Shigekichi Saito who criticized this and caused intense opposition.

I set up the mountain cottage in Ogigayatsu, Kamakura-shi, Kanagawa (1934) in 1934. I emigrate to Kamakura (1939) in family in 1939 and I perform fictionization afterward around here and begin to devote myself to a classic study. I give the dissolution advice of "the Japan poet association" where I belonged to as (1940), honorary membership in 1940 by a joint signature with Riyu Saito, Shosuke Yoshiue and surge into administration support afterward. I evacuate to the hometown (1945) in 1945. I am chosen as (1953), a member of Japan Art Academy in 1948. I die (1955) in 1955. Age at death 79. I am hushed up by Tokei-ji Temple of Kitakamakura. The Buddhist name is 潮音院杳荘水穂居士.

I made third son, soldier Saburo of older brother, 嘉曾次 an heir by adoption. It is Seikyu Ota of the scholar of classical Chinese in later poets.
