COCON Karasuma with the Kyoto cinema

Asahi, Kyoto cinema having 2 screen closed at January, 2003, and the screening of the movie of single hall in Kyoto-shi origin decreased. Therefore the staff lower than the manager of the former Asahi, Kyoto cinema established a company newly and, in spite of being a stack, I was active for the establishment of the new movie theater and opened screening society in other facilities in form to enter the commercial facilities (COCON KARASUMA) to be able to refresh.

I am opened on December 4, 2004, and it is run in the second lunar month Co., Ltd. by a company [¹]. Having three screen, I show a movie of single hall origin mainly.

I concluded an academic interchange agreement with Ritsumeikan University in 2006. I switch to a current logo taking advantage of the opening fifth anniversary in 2009. In the same year, Toshiki Shima of the representative of Shima Films takes office as the officer of the hall [²].
