A cue garden district (cue garden ちく) is the triangular district in the center of the New York City Queens ward. A lot of people of the high-ranking middle class live.

History
The cue garden district is one of seven garden community made in the Queens ward from the late 19th century through 1950 [2]. Most of this district were acquired in 1868 by British Al Bonn P man. He developed the land of the Hori's leech mainly to the south along Jamaica avenue, but did not develop the hill country which continued to the north undeveloped ground [3].
In 1875, the Maple glove graveyard in the cue garden road was opened. The station of the Long Island railroad was built for persons who attend a funeral in October of the year, and a train has begun to stop from the middle part in November. The original station name was Hopedale, but it was changed the name later with Hopedale hall, and there was a hotel in the place where the union turnpike intersected current Queens boulevard. It was said that the executors of Man's estate[ equivalent questionable point] built the Queens bridge golf course in the south hilly areas of the pike in the 1890s. The golf course was used until I was divided in 1908 by the main line (moved to the south 600 feet of (180m) to cancel a curve) of the Long Island railroad.
The golf course was closed, and a new station was built afterwards in 1909 by レファーツ boulevard. The アルドリック man and the Al Bonn man youth of the successor of the man were going to build the new community. This community was called a cue at first, but I took the name later from a famous botanical garden in the U.K. and called it with a cue garden [1]. The architect who developed land for residential land supported British style and neo-Tudor-style. There are predominantly many these styles in many sections of this district now.
In 1910 the property was sold piecemeal by the estate[ equivalent questionable point]. The expansion of the street, a class charge account of the land, laying of the top and bottom water pipe were carried out in the next several years. In 1915, the first apartment called Kew Bolmer was built by 80–45 Kew Gardens Road. A private school was built following it a clubhouse in 1918 in 1916. In 1920, Kew Gardens Inn started a business for a rooming house visitor at the station. A room, a meal, a bath arrived, and, as for the rooming house visitor, they paid 40 dollars per one week. In the 1920s, an elegant single-family house house was built as apartments such as Colonial Hall (1921) or Kew Hall (1922). It counted 20 or more by 1936.
Ground Central Park way to continue from the cue garden to the edge of the Nassau county in July, 1933 was inaugurated. This road was extended to Pennsylvania avenue in East New York as Interborough Parkway in 1935. Because this parkway used a part of the union turnpike, one house was not destroyed, too.
The biggest change was brought by an independence subway system (IND) having started a business to a union turnpike along Queens boulevard on December 31, 1936. Four months later, the subway extended to the district of Jamaica. The inhabitants can go to Manhattan and the Brooklyn ward for 5 cents per day in 24 minutes and can in this way go from the cue garden to the midtown now in approximately 30 minutes. The construction of the bigger apartment and high-rise building such as the Kent manner (Kent Manor) was promoted along Queens boulevard, and the last vacant land in this way disappeared.
In spite of the historic significance, protection of the landmark is not enough in the cue garden district [2].
Sightseeing
A residential area and commercial areas having high population density remain in section sandwiched between Austin street and metropolitan avenues among レファーツ boulevards in the cue garden district. This street is the home of the shop liked by Kew Gardens Cinemas and Dani's Pizzeria, Austin's Steak and the Austin Ale House, people including Comic Den. Civic Center of the Queens ward, Queens ward Government building, the criminal court of the Queens county gather at the north end (section sandwiched in union turnpike and Hoover avenue among Queens boulevards) of this district.
Traffic
Station wagon Wick expressway and the 131st street, it is a park lane and Abingdon road, the 118th street to a hillside avenue, the west to the south and can go to Jackie Robinson parkway (Interborough Parkway), the east to the north. In addition, there are the districts of Forest park and Forest Hills, the Forest Hills garden in the west side. I can go to the city of the neighborhood by subway from these expressways and union turnpike - cue gardens Station. I can go from this district to the midtown in New York City subway quint, F line in approximately 30 minutes.
Education
A famous school in Yeshiva Tifereth Moshe, Bais Yaakov of Queens, Yeshiva Shaar Hatorah is in this district. P.S. of the local public school As for 99, there is always special programs[ equivalent questionable point] for students of ギフテッド extending to TAG, and it is possible for students by the learning of the level that is higher than him and the child of the standard from a second grader. In addition, there are the special grants such as Shakespeare grants[ equivalent questionable point], too [4].
House
Apartments of the fourth-floor -10 stories crowd in the cue garden district mainly. Most are lease, but are a cooperative partly. There is not the apartment complex of the New York City house public corporation in this district, but there is the house of the Mitchel llama and provides a house at a stable price for a family and the individual who pay, and need help of the rent. There is the building of the 32-story Mitchel llama in the 82nd Avenue. In addition, there is smaller attached houses[ equivalent questionable point] along Richmond Hill and brei yeah Wood, the border with other districts including Jamaica. Those most are 2-3 households of houses. There is the expensive single-family house house around Forest park. However, for constant development[ equivalent questionable point], I sell it to the developer who teardown (buying an existing house, and dismantling it, and making new construction) does those single-family house houses as for many landlords, and makes an apartment. This brought the change of population dynamics.
Population dynamics
| The correction of this knob is expected. |
According to the national census of 2000 by the United States of America Bureau of the Census, as for the race constitution of the cue garden district, it is 62.2% of whites, Asian 13.0%, black and African-American 7.0%, Indian and Alaska native 0.3%, other 7.4%, Hispanic and Latina-American 20.0%. However, the population dynamics of the district changed, and Hispanic and population of Asian people increased remarkably in the past 10 years. According to the current national census, the population of the cue garden district is estimated more than 25,769 people.
Cue garden districts are racially various. After World War II, the big community which consisted of the Jewish refugees from Germany was established in the cue garden district. It is reflected to the number of synagogues which are active in this district now. This district attracted many emigrants such as approximately 2,500 Iranian Jews after Iranian Revolution of 1979 much Chinese emigration after 1965. In addition, over the from 1980s to 1990s, an emigrant from China, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Israel, former Soviet Union, India, Bangladesh, Korea settled down. [equivalent questionable point], the population of the Bukhara Jew from Uzbekistan increase now along with community of the important orthodox school (Judaism) in the cue garden district [3]. Also many immigrants from Central America, and South America call Kew Gardens home, as well as immigrants from Japan. Kew Gardens is well known for being a residential area, with a mix of one-family homes above the million-dollar range, complex apartments, co-ops and others converted and on the way or being converted as condominiums. I reflect the local modernization, and a famous five star hotel is under construction in the 82nd Avenue.
Kitty ジェノヴィーズ case
Kitty ジェノヴィーズ which lived in this district in 1964 was killed near cue garden Station. As for the New York Times, she called for help aloud, but the neighboring resident reported that nobody accepted it [6]. This story exposed indifference and anonymity in the urban life. It is disputed the situation of the case even today, and it is insisted that the important fact "that the neighboring resident accepted nobody" of the article of the New York Times was a mistake. Kitty ジェノヴィーズ cases are quoted for the example of the looker-on effect well. In addition, this case is the example that accelerated the study of the phenomenon of the social psychology for the first time [7].
Economic
Much locally owned businesses[ equivalent questionable points] and a restaurant are located in the cue garden district along レファーツ boulevard, a metropolitan avenue, Austin street, a cue garden road. House with an inner court and union turnpike - cue garden station bring much money in this area. A pilot and the cabin attendant staying in John F. Kennedy International Airport and this district in between La Guardia Airport also have an influence on the regional economy.
サウディア runs an office in Suite 401 at 80–02 Kew Gardens Road[ equivalent questionable point] of this district [8].
