Clark stone explosion

Coordinate: 55°47'24" N 4°16'37" W / 55.790 degrees N 4.277 degrees W / 55.790, the -4.277 Clark stone explosion (Clark stone explosion, English: Clarkston explosion) are the accidents that occurred at the shopping center of the yeast Renfrew shark Lark stone (English version) which there is near Glasgow, Scotland on October 21, 1971. The death toll varies with 21 people [¹] and 22 people [²].

Because gas accumulated the explosion in the underground right under the Clark stone Thor shopping center (Clarkston Toll shopping centre) for a gas leak (determined to have been accidental later) from gas main, it occurred [¹]. Because a shopper and a salesclerk appealed for a strong smell of the gas in a shop on October 20, an engineer of the スコティッシュ gas investigated it, but was not able to identify a bad-smelling outbreak source [¹]; [²]. The engineer came at about 2:50 on the afternoon of 21st, but I caught fire from gas then and exploded, and 21 died even at least, and approximately 100 got injured [³]. The passenger of the bus passing a housewife, the spot where I came to for many saleswomen and shopping was included in a victim [²]. Several shops and stepped parking lot were destroyed by an explosion.

The cause that caught fire from the gas which leaked was not identified, and gas leak in itself was considered to be a result of the damage of the accidental gas main due to "stress and corrosion" [³].

The victim is memorialized in a tablet erected near the scene of the accident in February, 2001 [²].
