I was released from Alfa Records (\EN label) on May 24, 1983.

Background
After the solo activity of the member or the musical piece offer to other artists, it is the album which greatly changed the route.
After previous work "techno Derrick" announcement, the member offers a musical piece to various musicians as solo activity and lets you make a hit. Those musical pieces were made as a popular song, but the synthesizer sound peculiar to YMO was used casually and had a great influence on the later popular song, idol song (cf. techno songs and ballads).
It is afterwards that it is influence from individual solo activity, or this album in the name of announced YMO was conscious of a popular song. I am seen for the conversion in prospect of the record sales to the "fickle" popular song route for the listener to a previous work definitely when I have a look, but the hit popular song at the time of the Haruomi Hosono reason is the musical piece group that marked a line and talks rather than a thing made as a popular song later when it is an album of the positioning second of "techno Derrick". In addition, it is the album which three characteristics appeared conspicuously as it was said with Ryuichi Sakamoto of Hosono of the solid musical piece, Yukihiro Takahashi of the pop musical piece, the delicate musical piece with influence of the previous solo activity or this album.
In addition, the album title was named at first when "cute".

Recording
I sound a phosphorus drum with an amplifier by the recording of the drum and I let a genuine drum be resonant and record the sound, and a production method to attach the ROM who printed a sound of Takahashi to a phosphorus drum, and to know a previous work is used.
Digital recording is carried out in product "BGM" before last and was returned to an analog recording in previous work "techno Derrick", but this album is performed by digital recording from a beginning. I am disposed with tape of "BGM" now because the machine parts which can reproduce this master tape do not exist in the world.
Professional Huet 5, Emulator, Roland MC-4, Roland TR-808, phosphorus drum, Simmons (synthesizer drum) are cited in the use machine parts.
As the foreign musician who cooperated with a work of YMO for the first time, building Nelson participates with a guitar. Originally it was an opportunity that a building participated in the concert of Takahashi who went in the last year, and Takahashi suggested it [2]. It is said that Sakamoto liked a performance to be famous for a pedal point using E-BOW of the building.
Member oneself will use a sequencer than a product, and Hideki Matsutake in charge of manipulating it comes off from production till then, and alone Takeshi Fujii of the young person staff participates as "technical assistance" now.

- The music that I wrote for Miu Sakamoto who was a daughter of Sakamoto that was 3 years old in those days. Played various music without asking beautiful in the rain one's own other products, and Sakamoto at the time judged 良悪 of the music whether ノッ て danced it. The lyrics point at technique of the contemporary music of the 60s. Two kinds of tones are used for a bass. It is a snare not a high hat to chop 8 beats of the drum.

- Campaign music of "World Communications Year (WCY)" by the United Nations. For spot commercial use, time of the music was 30 seconds and remade this music for full choruses and was released a single the thing which touched the lyrics later.

- British verse and music. The work which Hosono and Sakamoto made a coproduct at activity of YMO alone. As for the rhythm pattern of the introduction in particular, Sakamoto cooperated with Hosono. In addition, the tone of the toy which Takahashi purchased in Kiddy Land is used for the tone of the snare.
