Matthias デ ロベル (Mathias de l' Obel or de Lobel or Lobelius or Delobel, from 1538 to March 3, 1616) is a doctor, a botanist of Frandre. I am known as flora, "Plantarum seu stirpium historia".

Life

I was born in Lille. After having learned medicine from 1571 through 1581 in Antwerpen and デルフト, it became the physician in ordinary to Orange (Oranje) public Willem first in デルフト in 1584. I escaped from an anti-Catholic riot from the internal disturbance that occurred to the U.K., and it was a court physician of British King, James I and was the eleventh and acted as the advisor of the botanical garden which Zouche baron (Edward la Zouche, 11th Baron Zouche) established, and it was to a king botanist belonging to it.

I published flora, Plantarum seu stirpium historia by Pierre Pena and a joint work in 1571 and 1576 in 1571. The information of the collected place is attached about 1,500 kinds of plants in the first version, and the Montpellier and Tirol district, a Netherlands plant are recorded. A small figure of 268 pieces of xylograph was attached. With the second edition, the index of the name of seven languages was attached, and クルシウス, ドドエンス, the plates more than 2000 from the book of Mattie cage and others were attached. It was tried that I classified plants in the form of the leaf [1]. This book became the reputation.

It is done 献名 in the Lobelia radicans genus (a scientific name: Lobelia) by Charles プリュミエ.
