Origin
The competition career of Wade began in 1962, and she converted to "a professional tennis player" at 23 years old in 1968 six years after it. In 1968, it is located at the greatest turning point during a history of the tennis. "The opening measures" of the tennis 4 size meeting were carried out to this age, and the four major meeting participation of professional players was lifted the ban on by "the French Open Tennis Championships". Before it, the participation qualification of four major meetings was limited only to an amateur. Because much first rank players who gained success converted to a professional, the dilemma that the figure of the player of the world's strongest level disappeared even by Wimbledon championship proud of world's best prestige to continued for a long term. Therefore I opened the way of four major meeting participation to a professional player by opening measures. In the year, Wade wins the championship at an open "British hard court championship" as an amateur in Bournemouth of the hometown. Five months later, Wade gives glory to four major meetings first championship with "the U.S. Open" as a professional player. I defeated Billie Jean King (the United States) in 6-4, 6-2 in the final and became the champion of the championship beginning as "an opening era meeting". (because a champion of Open Era Grand Slam) is listed as a champion of the meeting official recognition "opening times meeting" (English that United States championship was held as tentativeness measures a note twice for two years in 1968 and 1969, and was performed in September, Wade is treated as an official champion in 1968, and, specifically, the list of U.S. Open women's singles champions is reference, too.)
In the Australian Open of 1972, Wade gave the four major meeting second win that it became four years since the last and gave Yvonne グーラゴング which was a rising player of local Australia by 6-4, a straight of 6-4.
In 1973, Wade paired with a marguerite coat by women's doubles and won four major meeting women's doubles three a year crowns except Wimbledon. The coat has the second women's doubles that it is two years since then in the U.S. Open with Wade in 1975. Wade nominated all four wins for the women's doubles of the grand slam meet in combination with the coat wife (the coat wife retired herself from the competition life in this meeting last.).
The tennis life biggest highlight of Wade is Wimbledon Championship Tournament of 1977. Wade who defeated Chris Evert of the champion in 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 in the semifinals in the meeting last year will face Betty stove (the Netherlands) in the final. Wade put a come-from-behind win in the stove in 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 while the center court of the final was filled with 14,000 full audiences, and Queen U.K. Elizabeth II where I invited the enthronement 25th anniversary to in this year watched it and carried out first championship for Wimbledon championship by a challenge of the oneself 17th. This was a monument-like great achievement accomplished nine days before a 32-year-old birthday for Wade.
I retire at 41 years old in 1986. I achieve entering international tennis palace in 1989.
