Summary

The drama which I drew a latter half student filled with disturbance of king Henry VIII on the stage of an English kingdom in the 16th century on. The United States (show time), Canada (CBC Television), Ireland (TV3), a (BBC Two) collaboration in the U.K.

The Emmy Awards won Art Direction Award and clothes prize clothes prize and a main signature tune prize in Cinematography Award, 2010 in clothes prize, 2009 in 2008 in 2007. The Golden reel prize won best sound editing in 2010.

In Japan, it was broadcasted in AXN mystery and IMAGICA BS from November, 2009.

Outline

Season 1

Henry VIII in the 30s wanted the heir of the boy, but is irritated with you without only daughter Princess Mary gaining between older queen Catherine of Aragon. I receive trust of the King, and Thomas ウルジー managing politics of England plans peace with France and both King meets you at a camp of the cloth of gold and conclude a treaty. The King has many lovers and sends a heart to Ann boo Lin, but Ann requires that she becomes a queen. Using Queen Catherine having been ever married to older brother Prince Arthur of Henry, Henry gives ウルジー an order to get invalidity of the marriage from the Pope. But ウルジー fails and it is removed by all posts and is arrested and I forfeit property and commit suicide.

Season 2

Henry VIII lets a church of England separate from Roman Catholicism, and Canterbury archbishop Thomas Klammer whom I appointed newly admits invalidity of the marriage with the Queen Catherine. But the Thomas more and others that King trusted protest it and resign a job. The King marries Ann boo Lin and gets Princess Elizabeth, but the boy is not given it. Thomas Cromwell of the person from commoner comes to manage politics and pushes forward the Reformation while clashing with a noble. He loses his affection for Ann who does not give birth to a boy, and the King changes a heart to Jane Seymour. The Queen Ann is put a crime of the adultery on and is executed.

Season 3

Henry VIII marries Jane Seymour and gets long-awaited boy Prince Edward, but the queen dies on the floor of the childbed. A revolt in protest against the Reformation breaks out, and the menace from France and Spanish both Catholicism large country increases, too. Thomas Cromwell makes Ann of cleveite the fourth queen from Germany for the alliance with the Protestantism country. But the King does not like Ann and gets a divorce immediately and executes Cromwell who fixed the marriage. The King falls in love with young, beautiful Catherine Howard soon.

Season 4

Henry VIII marries Catherine Howard, but Catherine commits adultery, and she is executed. If Catherine of the wealthy widow is lost, Henry showing a sign of the old age marries again in the Protestantism that is full of culture. I attack France by oneself in cooperation with Spain, but the war is over to a thing with a few crops. The hand of the Inquisition presses a queen, but retreat, and the King entrusts Edward Seymour and others of the uncle with prince Prince Edward of the childhood. He loses Charles Brandon of the old friend, and the King leaves the world. Princess Mary who is a Spanish Catholic inheriting a trait or talent burns flame of the revenge for the Reformation, and Princess Elizabeth that mother Ann boo Lin was executed promises that she does not get married throughout the life.

Difference with the historical fact

The producer of this product tells, it "was demanded that I make the soap opera which is entertainment and was not going to make historical play" [1].
