イファリク island

Position of the イファリク island

イファリク atoll (English: Ifalik) or Ifaluk is a coral atoll of western part of Pacific Caroline Islands. In addition, I constitute a member of the Federated States of Micronesia electoral district in the Yap state.

Geography

It is at east 40km of the ウォレアイ island, the position approximately southeastern 700km of Yap. The population is considered to be 561 people [¹] as of 2000, and the area of the island is considered to be 1.5km² 程. The main island constituting an atoll is called Ella, Elangelap, Rawaii, Falalop each [²].

The area of the total in the whole land is 1.47km2 degree, but the atoll has up to 20m in depth, a lagoon of area 2.43km² [³]. The area of the whole atoll is quite 6km² [⁴].

History

Before the European arrival, the イファリク atoll was known as an island of the soldiers, and the soldier invaded and attacked in an island and the tuque state external marginal island around Yap. ラモトレック, F bamboo pipe-stem rep, ウォレアイ, エラート, Sata are bad in the island that received an attack, and there are Woolsey, a pull watt.

Caroline Islands was sold as a part of Germany territory New Guinea via Spain territory East Indies in 1899, and Great Japanese Empire became the South Sea Islands which performed mandatory administration after World War I. The United States occupies it after World War II and becomes the Pacific Islands trust territory of the United Nations, and it is part after Federated States of Micronesia independence of 1979.
