Summary

It is located on the southernmost tip of Osaka, the plateau facing the Gulf of Osaka. With Seiryo old burial mound (historic spot of the country, Mayor of mound 210 meters) in approximately 800 meters west and Nishikoyama old burial mound (round burial mound, non-existence) enough in Seiryo, Tannowa ニサンザイ, I form Tannowa old burial mound group. "ニサンザイ" of the name is the corruption of "the mass heron" (Imperial mausoleum). I am under the management of the agency as an inevitability grave of the Imperial Household Agency, but the excavation of the mound is carried out now in (2014) in 2014 [1].

墳形 turns front region to the southwest west with a circle after front. The mound 3 段築成 [2]. The Mayor of mound measures 173 meters by existence, but I am sharpened in history, and it is supposed that it was approximately 180 meters at the time of the construction [2]. As outside facilities, the construction in an overhanging style of the pyramid roof is recognized in both constrictions part of the mound south side, the north side [2]. Gravel spread all over an old mound is covered on the mound surface, and I add it, and the clay images such as a burial mound cylindrical figure line of the Sue quality, a house, a shield, Kinugasa, the bird are recognized [3]. A part of the clay image has Tannowa unique technique, and they are named "a clay image of Tannowa origin" [2]. The internal facilities (burial facilities) are not clear. A lap moat is used to two folds around a mound (only the first fold remains now); [2]. Seven subordinate burial mounds are distributed over the Japanese yen part outer peripheral portion after the neighborhood of this lap moat, and hit it, and six exist; in 主墳同様 under the control of the Imperial Household Agency [4].

In the construction generation of this Tannowa ニサンザイ old burial mound, is estimated with the time for from 440 years to 460 years in the Christian era of the - latter half during the fifth century by an exhumation clay image [5]; [1]. I am next to the Seiryo old burial mound, and, among three large old burial mounds (Seiryo old burial mound, Nishikoyama old burial mound, Tannowa ニサンザイ old burial mound) of the Tannowa old burial mound group constructed only at the mid-fifth century, the construction of the large size old burial mound in here ends with [5], the construction of this old burial mound by the construction of the same period with Nishikoyama old burial mound. Unique technique (Tannowa technique) is seen in a burial mound cylindrical figure in the large old burial mound group of these Misaki-cho, but it is thought that the Tannowa old burial mound group was established in a strong relation with the Kii power (Tadashi) because similar technique is seen in the Kinomoto old burial mound group of Wakayama plains (Kinomoto, Wakayama-shi) [5].

Origin

  • 1875 (1875) on March 8 Mt. Tamada in 五十瓊敷入彦命宇度墓 inevitability [2].
  • I cancel inevitability of the Mt. Tamada (1879) on February 7 in 1879 [2].
  • 1880 (1880) on December 28 Tannowa ニサンザイ old burial mound in 五十瓊敷入彦命宇度墓 inevitability [2].
  • I confirm excavation (the Osaka Board of Education), a double lap moat in (56-57 years of the Showa era), south side adjoining land for 1981-1982 years [2].
  • 1983 (1983), a feasibility study (the Imperial Household Agency Archives and Mausolea Department) with the stone wall repair work, fence setting, enclave ろ protection construction, the exhumation [2] of the clay image.
  • 1984 (1984), an attendance investigation (the Imperial Household Agency Archives and Mausolea Department) with the stone wall repair work, the exhumation [2] of the clay image.
  • There are no (2012), attendance investigation (the Imperial Household Agency Archives and Mausolea Department) with the sullage removal construction in the moat, confirmation of remains of an ancient structure, remains in 2012 [2].
  • 2014 (2014), a feasibility study (the Imperial Household Agency Archives and Mausolea Department) with the maintenance construction of the mound, a mound scale estimate and clay image exhumation [2].

Scale

As for the scale of the old burial mound, following (as for the numerical value in the parenthesis an estimated reconstruction level); [6].

  • Mayor of mound: 173 meters (approximately 180 meters)
  • 後円部 -3 段築成.
    • A diameter: Approximately 93 meters (approximately 102 meters)
    • Height: Approximately 13.5 meters
  • Front region -3 段築成.
    • Width: Approximately 111 meters (approximately 122 meters)
    • Height: Approximately 12.25 meters
  • Construction in an overhanging style
    • South construction in an overhanging style -2 段築成.
      • Approximately 21 meters of approximately 24 meters of East-West X north and south (approximately 21 meters of approximately 26.7 meters of East-West X north and south, approximately 3.5 meters in height)
    • The north construction in an overhanging style - top surface non-exists.
      • Approximately 11 meters of approximately 20 meters of East-West X north and south

A water jump is used around a mound, but a hem part of the mound is sharpened by the surge of this moat, and it is to an estimate when the parenthesis adds it and restored it [6].

Indicating the characteristic that the third step is remarkably higher in than the first step .2 steps eyes in the mound of 3 段築成 [6]. On top of that, I am comprised of laying earth on the ground from the cut appearance of the natural hill until the first step middle [6]. Because the construction in an overhanging style of the natural hill is recognized in the construction in an overhanging style, the construction in an overhanging style is considered to be the mound body and the construction of the same period [6]. Existence of burial facilities or 副葬品埋納施設 is estimated in this south, north construction in an overhanging style particularly the possibility that a construction in an overhanging style functioned as estrade form facilities (usually seen in 前方部墳頂) has it pointed out in the investigation in the south construction in an overhanging style [6].

被葬者

被葬者 is performed inevitability of now in 五十瓊敷入彦命 (いにしきいりひこのみこと) of the Prince the eleventh Emperor Suinin by Imperial Household Agency [7]; [8]. "Chronicles of Japan" "description of folk history" does not have mention and is seen as "宇度墓" located in the root county on an Izumi country day in the "Engi era type" various mausoleums dormitory about a grave of this 五十瓊敷入彦命 and does the graveyard with 遠墓 in three east and west, three north and south, 守戸 3 烟 [8]. However, I go to ruin in the Middle Ages, and the location is lost and was established based on a mention of "the Quanzhou will" in the Mt. Tamada in (1874) in 1874, but is checked in the Tannowa ニサンザイ old burial mound in (1880) in 1880 [8]. But the done clear grounds do not have inevitability in this old burial mound.

Because two large burial mounds with a square front and a round back of Misaki-cho are hard to think that all were constructed only with economic power of here archeologically, participation of the Kii power (Tadashi) is assumed in these construction [9]. There is in particular the opinion doing comparing and drawing conclusions to Oyumi Kino (きのおゆみ) of the general in the late fifth century when it seems that I was buried in "田身輪邑" (たむわのむら = Tannowa-mura) in an article for "Chronicles of Japan" Emperor Yuryaku nine years [1].

In addition, I give a grave of Oyumi Kino and an opinion to do for "Izumi will" and raise grave of the boat watcher (きのふなもり) and opinion to do in another in either Seiryo old burial mound, 宇度墓古墳 for "Quanzhou will" as a grave of Oyumi Kino for a period [10]. But the boat watcher becomes a person (from 731 years to 792 years) of the eighth century for this period.

Subordinate burial mound

I am told that there were seven subordinate burial mounds to surround 後円部 in the old burial mound. Six engines exist, and it is done inevitability to a subordinate burial mound of 宇度墓 now by Imperial Household Agency [5].
