Pare strike Lena (opera)
"Pare strike Lena" (Palestrina) WoO.17 is known as one of the masterpieces of Pfitzner with all three opera which Hans Pfitzner composed today. In addition, three overtures put on each curtain each are often played independently (as orchestral suite).
A subtitle called "musical legend" (Musikalische Legende) is given by the person of composition.

Summary
Pfitzner who read Vol. 4 [1] of "history of music" (1878) which August Wilhelm Ann Brosses (August Wilhelm Ambros,1816 -1876) who was a composer edited in Austrian musicologist thought of opera doing this to making it it, and Pfitzner wrote a oneself script at once and finished writing it from 1910 to 1911, the following day. It was started on January 1, 1912 and completed the composition on June 17, 1915 three years later.
The premiere was carried out by conduct of Bruno Walter in a pudding tritagonist gene ten theater of Munich on June 12, 1917 and gained a great success.
