The second (おつ, きのと) is the second of the ten celestial stems. It is assigned behind tree characteristics in the Yin, Yang and five elements combination theory, and here says "きのと" (younger brother of the tree) in Japan.

As for the character of the second, form took zigzag form, and, as the meaning that was in a state that wound that the bud which left from the kind appeared on the ground from there, was addressed to the second of the ten celestial stems.

When I use the ten celestial stems for order pickles, the second becomes the second meaning. In addition, I use the ten celestial stems for a classification and may say the "second" "second". In this case I only attached it as the name of merely classification with the former, the second, but there are many people whom I misunderstand when the second is inferior to first grade. For example, a classification of the shochu includes the formers, the second, but another name called "real shochu" is touched because the second avoids "a thing inferior" to and misunderstood one.

In addition, it is dominant in the former and, as seen in the expression "that there is little difference" between, may compare the second to inferior level. I show it in promotion, a promotion examination by the calligraphy using the former and the latter.

5 age becomes age of the second one column of bottom of the year in the Christian era.
