Operation MB8

Operation MB8 is the strategy that British troops performed in the Mediterranean Sea in November, 1940. Mediterranean Sea fleet and five battleships of the H corps, two carriers, ten cruisers made a sortie. This strategy includes the following things.

• AN6 fleet toward Greece from Egypt
• MW3 fleet toward Gulf of Crete Suda and Malta from Alexandria
• ME3 fleet toward Alexandria from Malta
• AS5 fleet toward Egypt from the Aegean Sea
• The reinforcement to Mediterranean Sea fleet and strength of an army to Malta, supplies transportation (Operation coat Operation Coat)
• Airport air raid (crack operation Operation Crack) of Sicily
• Strength of an army transportation from Port Said with two light cruisers to the Gulf of Suda
• Transportation such as the staff of air forces from Port Said by the light cruiser Orion to Greece
• Taranto air raid (judgment operation Opetation judgment)
• Enemy ship group attack at the Otranto straits

Mediterranean Sea fleet made a sortie for this strategy from Alexandria an H corps from Gibraltar.
