History

The guard of Berlin, the Friedrich Engels sentry regiment which finished a change in the joss house of the nameless soldier.

On January 18, 1956, I adopt "law (Gesetzüber die Schaffung der Nationalen Volksarmee und des Ministeriums für Nationale Verteidigung) about the foundation of a national people's army and the Department of Defense" in the Volkskammer and start the rearmament. According to this, the German Democratic Republic Department of Defense (German version) was set up, and barracks Vopo (Kasernierte Volkspolizei) which was only one branch of the German Vopo was reorganized nominally to the national people's army (Nationale Volksarmee) and was promoted to the national military formally. Reorganization was completed by March 1, 1956 and was appointed later on a national people's army memorial day as a day of the national people's army foundation on that day. They took the district under jurisdiction of 2 forces system of a southern district and the northern district in the barracks Vopo, and even national people's army ground troops succeeded this. Fifth forces district (Militärbezirke V) that put the headquarters in Neubrandenburg () until 1956 for パーゼヴァルク (German) was installed north and south district in for the cause some other time with district under jurisdiction of third military which established the headquarters in Leipzig (Militärbezirke III) in 1957 [1]. In addition, the ground troops headquarters (Kommando Landstreitkräfte) was established with Potsdam gel cane (German version) on December 1, 1972, and I shifted to three sees of systems, and various low-class headquarters for the purpose of the training was maintained.

On October 2, 1990, all organizations of the national people's army were dismantled in reunification in Germany. The headquarters (the fourth army corps after Heereskommando Ost,) of the federal army tinged with the unification duty of both East-West militaries in the military headquarters in a historic site in eastern army is established. As a military unit under this headquarters servant in eastern army, district under jurisdiction of the eighth defense (the 14th armor grenadier division in the back) is installed in the district under jurisdiction of former fifth forces of Neubrandenburg district under jurisdiction of the seventh defense (the thirteenth armor grenadier division in the back) in the district under jurisdiction of old third forces of Leipzig, and most officers will lose a job although it was permitted that some soldier noncommissioned officers remain behind in these.

Duty

The national people's army ground troops took the part of the Warsaw Treaty Organization forces in Europe. In addition, the particularly prospective role was that Poland or Czechoslovakia checked the attack for other allies in German Democratic Republic within the territory with the Soviet Union forces in Germany [1].

By the late 1980s, the national people's army ground troops were reorganized by three sees of conventional systems which added the ground troops headquarters (Kommando Landstreitkräfte) to the third district under jurisdiction of military and district under jurisdiction of fifth forces and maintained this system until the dismantling. Two motorization sniper divisions and one armor division belonged to the district under jurisdiction of each military of the time of peace as the main force, and support people and a related low rank corps and bureau were located more. The following thing is included in this low rank corps and bureau.

The district under jurisdiction of local military was constructed by open battle leadership (Feldführungen) and the district under jurisdiction of local military headquarters (Kommandos der Territorialen Militärbezirke), and the Secretary of State for Defence held the authority about the military unit formation [1].

Extended

In the national people's army, I divided it into several degrees and expanded the reserve of ground troops and the spare force. The surplus production of ammunition and equipment, vehicles was carried out in the recruitment of reserve duty corpses in each place. The government corresponded to each company in order to strengthen the production system and supported it when I faced the lack of the arsenal including a vehicle and the equipment. These force expansion was carried out under the government and the military authorities, the agreement of each company premeditatedly. It was decided that the reserve duty military power completed mobilization within three days after an order, and it was said that the ground troops which had 257,960 rank and file and 31,538 officers in a time of peace could mobilize 103,996 soldier noncommissioned officers and 13,880 officers as a reserve duty force. Furthermore, there was the armored personnel carrier, too, and the number of the surpluses was secured, and the firearms such as guns maintained quantity of several times of the military power in a time of peace [2].

When a national people's army exercises complete mobilization, the six regular division (two armor divisions and four motorization sniper divisions) mentioned above increases the mobilization division (German version) (Mobilmachungsdvisionen) five division which, in addition, is comprised of reserve duty military power, and the again regular division is strengthened with reserve duty military power, too. I used old Noncommissioned Officer Academy as a training base of the reserve duty military power in the ground troops. Five of the next are in the mobilization division.

Furthermore, Reserves under the ground troops instruction included the thirteenth reserve duty motorization sniper regiment (Reserve-motorisierte Schützenregiment 13), thirteenth and the 15th reserve duty tank hunting soldier regiment (Reserve-Panzerjägerregimenter), thirteenth, 15th, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 33rd, the 43rd reserve duty motorization sniper battalion (Reserve-motorisierten Schützenbataillone).
