The Kichijoji diamond street (there is きちじょうじ diamond Kichijoji Dia-Gai) is all cover-type arcade malls in Kichijojihoncho, Musashino-shi, Tokyo. A Kichijoji diamond booth keeper shop cooperative is run. I practice medicine in 1961 and count 50 years to date. A current arcade was completed in March, 2009.

Summary

The diamond town is constructed in East zone (yeast zone) of the east side, South zone (south zone) of western West zone (waist zone) and south side and becomes T-shaped. In addition, there is Dome (dome) at the middle of East and West and handles the part of two pipes to tie a zone to.

In the early 1950s, a store starts a business in sequence at the Japanese National Railways Kichijoji Station north exit among revival のさ from World War II. There were few large commercial facilities, and cozy stores were often found in those days. And, in 1953, Rose nerd (existing South zone) is completed as the first arcade in the Kichijoji district.

And, in 1961, the Kichijoji Station north exit mall makes a fresh start as a diamond street mall (Nakacho Daiyagai).

The second arcade (current East zone and West zone) will be built as part of the cause of the leadership of Musashino mayor Kihachiro Goto at the time, Kichijoji Station north exit redevelopment business afterwards by a part of Nakacho Daiyagai when it is the 1970s. After a groundbreaking ceremony of January, 1974, completion, the name were named "diamond street, Tokyu cherry nerd" as if I matched it with Tokyu Department Store opening of a store and opened it in June in this year.

Characteristic of the arcade

  • The arcade of the diamond street is connected in East zone, West zone, South zone and becomes 254.20m in total length. In addition, it is connected in Dome (roof) between East and West.
  • The opening and shutting-type ceiling of the upper arcade uses a resin version of the UV cut and sees a blue sky at the time of the fine weather. I use 154 pieces of LED panels for the illumination of each gate and become the structure in consideration for environment.
  • The pavement of the sidewalk part uses white granite.
  • The logo of "the diamond street" was inserted in each three places of arcade entrances newly from 2011.

There is a gate on the Kichijoji station square side, and East zone located on the east side is next to the sun road. "The Tokyu cherry nerd" that the forerunner was completed in 1974.

In West zone located the west, there is a gate on the park street side, and a Tokyu Department Store Kichijoji shop rises near at hand. As well as East zone a forerunner "Tokyu cherry nerd."

South zone

There is a gate in front of Kichijoji Station and is next to the Parco. "The Rose nerd" of the forerunner of South zone was the oldest arcade of the diamond street of the 1953 completion and ticked away the history of 55 until I was rebuilt.

It is a connection part of East zone and West zone and plays a center point-like role.

It was a divided part before the arcade reconstruction, and the signboard which expressed neighboring maps was installed in both gates of the central part. With reconstruction, a roof was established newly. A position with meat shop "sugar" corresponds.

The symbol color of the dome is yellow.

Mascot

The mascot character is "die good luck and Kirara" family of the dogs. The guide map of the diamond street "Kichijoji diamond town, around act as a role to show around the arcade in map" and an official site. Main event

Smile championship
The event named "a smile championship" was carried out as a contest that the salesclerk of each participation shop shop participated in a diamond street in October, 2011 and competed for a smile.
