In Kanda-machi, a large number of users exist at the time of the rush for a commutable area of Kitakyushu-shi. In addition, as a doorway of Kitakyushu Airport that opened (2006) on March 16 in 2006, I built a station building by a prefecture and a town and was completed on April 22, the same year.

History

Station structure

Ground Station having the home of simple system home one 1 line and island expression home one 2 line, two 3 lines in total. A wooden station building was established once, but Hashigami station building and the freedom passage that it is, and binds the east and west of the station together are installed now by around Kanda Station maintenance business improving a station building and the station square. The nickname called "WE road" is attached to this freedom passage by an open call for participants. In the station east side, construction was completed on December 12, 2009, and ペデストリアンデッキ was established, too. In the west, construction was almost finished, and the road which reached from the prefectural roads to the station square was founded. One thing which links the upbound platform to the wicket floor goes down the elevator with a wicket floor, and home and freedom passage and common use elevator one of the east exit are installed. In the home, only 4 bisection is padded with both homes.

At the duties trust station where Kyushu Railway Company railroad business accomplishes station duties, a green window is installed.

Around station

A station is a central Kanda-machi station, and the outskirts are downtown feelings. National highway No. 10 runs side by side with Nippo Main Line at a position of east side approximately 300m of the station. The reclaimed land around the Kanda Port of the east side of National highway No. 10 makes a part of the Kitakyusyu industrial area, and a factory accumulates it.

Bus route

"Kanda Station entrance" bus stop is installed on National highway No. 10 of the east side of the station "Kanda Station" bus stop in station square rotary.

A bus platform for Kitakyusyu Airport Line was founded at the time of the new Kitakyushu Airport opening of a port, and the airport communication bus that Nishitetsu bus Kitakyusyu linked Kitakyushu Airport to our station traveled, but it was abolished on September 30, 2009. Sun traffic receives the furtherance of Kanda-machi from April 20, 2010 and operated airport communication bus "SORAPPY" (そらっぴー), but is suspended afterwards from April 1, 2015.

Cement company dedicated line

There was the dedicated line [5] to Toyokuni cherry blossom cement Kanda factory (existing Mitsubishi Materials Kyushu factory) which faced the Kanda Port from a dedicated line of Nihon Cement (existing Taiheiyo Cement Corp.) which concluded our station from a quarrying place of the station west and our station once [2]. Because this quarrying place was Nihon Cement and joint ownership of the Toyokuni cherry blossom cement (it becomes the tripartite joint ownership with Ube Ind., Ltd. later), I transported it through the dedicated line which diverged more via Kanda Port Station from neighboring Obase-Nishikodaimae Station to a factory of Nihon Cement and a freight train just entered the dedicated line of the Toyokuni cherry blossom cement at the Nihon Cement dedicated line to a factory of the Toyokuni cherry blossom cement and transported it.

Because Nihon Cement did not own a locomotive for freight train traction, I borrowed a locomotive of Japanese National Railways for payment and transported it. In contrast, the Toyokuni cherry blossom cement owns a steam locomotive [6], and want to perform employee transportation [7] by former Japanese National Railways freight train (テ 1 form) other than cement transportation [8]; [9]

Only Ube Ind., Ltd. quarries it now afterwards because Nihon Cement withdraws, and it is by a company merger in Mitsubishi Mining & Cement, and the Toyokuni cherry blossom cement performs quarrying in Higashiya factory (existing Mitsubishi Materials Kyushu factory Higashiya production section), and this quarrying place changed transportation means to a belt conveyor (by the way, I carry this using a belt conveyor owned by the company). The rail was removed with the both sides, but most of the dedicated line traces of Nihon Cement stay in a dirt road, and the supporting beam is left, too. In addition, as for the dedicated line trace of the Toyokuni cherry blossom cement, most become a paved road, and, as for the divergence part with Nippo Main Line, it is in the park. In addition, the Toyokuni cherry blossom cement donates the 5 locomotive which I used with a dedicated line (1972) on September 18 in 1972 to the Kanda elementary school as teaching materials use and is saved static condition now in a school site.
